The following trips, tricks and hidden treasures at Old Key West might very well enhance your stay in Margaritaville... er... OKW.

Bus Service
The order of bus stops at OKW is as follows:

Peninsular Rd.
Southpoint
Old Turtle Pond
Miller's Rd.
Hospitality House

All theme park buses stop at the Hospitality House (which includes the main pool, Olivia’s, gift shop, etc.) before they depart the resort. Guests can use any bus to get from a distant guest room to the Hospitality House without having to walk too far. – dianeschlicht

Busses bound for Downtown Disney are “Internal” buses for Old Key West. They stop at the Hospitality House both as they enter and leave the resort. To return to your guest room from the HH, board an Internal bus as it first enters the resort property.

If your guest room is in the Peninsular Road area and you just miss a theme park bus, walk the short distance to the Hospitality House to catch the same bus before it leaves the resort. – withdisneyspirit

Quiet Pools
The quiet pool near South Point Road is a wonderfully-secluded area of the resort. It features a hot tub, BBQ grill and kids’ play area with a relaxing view of the marsh grass and canal. – KNWVIKING

All of the quiet pools have hot tubs. They are great places to unwind after a long day touring the theme parks. – dianeschlicht

Guest Rooms
Most One, Two and Three Bedroom villas have very nice balcony views. However Studio rooms are often obscured by vegetation. – dianeschlicht

Guest rooms beneath Grand Villas are often quite noisy due to the hardwood floors of the GV above. – dianeschlicht

Golf course views are great for those who like to “people watch.” Five holes of the Lake Buena Vista golf course run through the heart of Old Key West and golfers are frequently present on the course throughout the daylight hours. – DarthGoofy

All buildings at Old Key West are three stories tall. However most of them were constructed prior to modern ADA accessibility laws were enacted. As a result, only three of the buildings at OKW have elevators—buildings 62, 63 and 64. Those with mobility issues should include a request for a first floor villa or one of the buildings listed above. – JimC

Some buildings at Old Key West include a door off of the laundry room of One and Two Bedroom villas so that guests can enter the bathroom without passing through the master bedroom. Other buildings do not have this door. Buildings 11 to 29 do not have this bathroom access door. – Simba’s Mom

Dining
Olivia’s at the Hospitality House has outdoor tables for dining during favorable weather. – JimC

Goods To Go provides diners with a full complement of individually-packaged condiments with each order. Assemble your own fresh sandwich on the nearby patio or back in your guest room. – Simba’s Mom

Walking Path to DTD West Side
Behind Building #55 you will find a walking path (actually it is a golf cart path) which leads to the Downtown Disney West Side. Note that the path is not lighted and should only be used in the daytime. – dianeschlicht, JimC

Boat Service / Rental
Pontoon boats make regular trips from the Hospitality House to Downtown Disney. It is a leisurely trip up the canal past the old Disney Institute Treehouse Villas and the Saratoga Springs Resort.

Hank’s Rent-n-Return offers 2-person boat rentals to guests. Boats can cruise the canal from Port Orleans French Quarter all the way up to Downtown Disney. – JimC
