Well, if anyone goes first, it should be you! Another secret, though, the better deals often appear a few months after sales begin.

Even BLT began with the hype that it would go quickly, no discounting, 6 months to sell out, blah, blah, blah. And then the deals came.

AKV also had some decent discounts after sales began.

Polynesian might be a special case because it really does have a lot of love. Please keep your pages going. I've enjoyed poring over them for years, and I've never stayed at the Polynesian.

Thanks for the move. I thought about it after I posted.

So what would the drawback to waiting be?

I am thinking this could be a lead article in the Disney Files magazine.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

I like the idea of being a founder. Maybe they should have a carved tiki put somewhere on the grounds for every founder

So what about purchasing the minimum points as a founder and then adding on later when there might be a discount or incentive?

I figured that there was nothing special for the first person who buys one but it would be more for my own private satisfaction…..and something I could splash across the front page of my site….just kidding.

I will for sure post in the rumors section when I can tell you more. I am bursting to tell all but they would bury me under the new building if I let it all out now. Funny that it will be posted in the rumors section eventhough I know now that it is not at all a rumor

I think you have a great idea. Purchase the minimum required to get the founder's recognition and then pick up the rest of your points later, if a special emerges.

When buying direct, it is very fast and easy to add on to your current contract. I think you just came up with an idea that many will follow.

haha....I don't think I would be the lead article anywhere. Half the Polynesian would rather my site does not exist because it tells all the secrets and I am not afraid to say when things are not good there but at least I know the other half likes the work I do and uses my site as a reference for information. I have actually walked up to the front desk and seen them on my site.

The funny part is that there are so many Polynesian fans out there that could have made a site like mine....maybe they are just smart enough to spend their time doing other things.

So there would not be any incentives that would only be for first time buyers? Kind of like how your cell service offers the deals to new customers instead of the loyal current customers. I wouldn't want any of the specials to only be for new contracts instead of for those adding on. maybe we see how they deal with the Grand Floridian DVC.

Quite similar to what I did at BLT, though I was told that since this was my first purchase and I wasn't already an owner I wasn't considered a founder...

Regardless, went from 200 points at BLT to 400 points at BLT (2 specials later @ 100 points each) within 2 years...

There will definitely be specials (well, almost definitely), it's just that future incentives may be better.

Just be sure to purchase far enough in advance to book your desired travel dates for your first planned DVC Vacation. If possible, try to purchase a little more than 7 months prior to your first travel date. That way, the Poly DVC Units will most likely have availability for your travel dates before the 7 month window opens for all DVC Owners who have other home resorts.

I'm not trying to be a wise guy but... If Disney was selling the points at say $ 180 , would you buy ?
