Just a thought. If BLT is going to $165.00 a point what will The Grand Floridian cost?

Looks like the intent is to sell small 25 point increments. The below quote came from the small print at the bottom of the email...

"... Effective July 15, 2012, the starting price for a 25 Vacation Point Member Add On will be $3,375 at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas and $4,125 at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort...."

The price does not seem as bad as it is because of the small point size...

It does seem that DVC is getting out of control with pricing. What is the Grand Floridian Villas going to be when available...$200/pt maybe?

Too late! There were already replies to your thread, so I merged that one in here too. For those who don't know, when we merge threads the system sorts every post by time. So sometimes conversations can seem a little disjointed, or someone ends up with a post that says "I agree" below a post that wasn't what they were originally responding to. I always say I've merged in the hopes that people will then understand the confusion.

Carry on! (with the mocking of DVC)

That email really ticked me off--they announce a $5 savings when they really mean they're about to raise the price $5.

I'm just glad we got our BLT at $96 a point when we did and am very happy with the 300 OKW points we added resale since then. We have 550 points now and are done adding on (yeah, right).

I shudder to think what the GFV's might come out at ... it cannot be any lower than BLT. What about Poly (in 2 or 3 years ... or whenever ...)

The wording really got to me too. Save $5? Not really. Not that I was in the market anyway. We're at 420 points (direct and resale). We won't be adding on direct any time soon.

You know, it's unfortunate, because I really like our guide. She's great. We actually stop by to chat with her when we visit Woodfield mall (I love that I can go to the mall and get a DVC fix now and then.) We just visited about a month ago. The store wasn't busy so she invited us back, gave the kids some chips and soda and we talked DVC for a while. I told her about all the rumors I was hearing about the Poly. We talked resale. She knows that's how I got my OKW points. She calls and leaves us a message at WDW no matter which points I use. We discussed GF and the Poly and my concerns about the possible prices. As we were leaving, she gave the kids a DVC bag with hats, water bottles, a liitle Aulani totem, and about 15 CM pins.

I just feel like DVC is on a really slippery slope here. If there is a good speculative buy in price at the Poly, I will surely throw our guide the sale. I just wonder if DVC can keep charging ahead with "the beatings will continue until morale improves" idea. How many people really fall for the "Save $5" crap?
