So I'm trying to book my son's honeymoon for the week of June 14, 2012. Tried to book the Palazzo del Giglio in Venice for the week. Even though it is more than a year in advance, they seem to be fully booked and I've been wait-listed. Has anyone else had this expereince, and what chance do I have of actually getting a booking?

Someone with more experience than me may chime in, but from what I understand, you should have a plan B.

The hotel you want may not be sold out, but RCI does not have any rooms available. RCI will only have inventory if someone who owns there deposits a unit into RCI. Then, if you are at the top of the list of those searching for that hotel for that time, you will be matched. Not sure how many timeshare units there are in the Palazzo del Giglio, but right now a search on RCI shows no units available at any time between now and December, 2013.

One year out is not really that early to request an RCI exchange. For the best chance, you should request multiple properties and/or multiple dates.
