Finish of Day 3,
So for the life of us, we can't figure out what we did between HS and MK, so we are just going to skip to MK. We got to MK around 6:00 and made a quick stop at Casey's for hot dogs and fries. We knew the park was going to be busy given it was the weekend and there were EMH. DD wanted to pick up a Minnie plush that was dressed up at Ariel. We had seen it previously at Merchant of Venus so we headed straight there to get it. Unfortunately, they didn't have any and there weren't any in the back. DD was disappointed but we would check some other stores. We then moved over to a close store where one of the employees took out a "phaser" gun and started to hunt the kids through the store....what a laugh and the kids had a great time. Eventually we told the kids that the employee had to get back to real work and that we had to leave..I think the employee was the most disappointed. Some guy from Australia....Disney is so fun. We then headed over to IASW and to HM. While getting into the HM, I practically elbowed some woman that was attempting to keep their group of 20 or so together....as if . Made sure that DS was in front of me so he wouldn't get run over since I figured that they wouldn't have any issues with pushing a 10 year old around. I just cut both of us right in.Have I mentioned that the cinnamon buns at the bakery are really good? We stopped for two more before heading to Tomorrowland. DS loves the Tomorrowland Speedway and DD was hoping to be tall enough to ride on her own, although doesn't want to ride by herself this time. So we decided to get in line. DD was coming with me (with her driving and using the pedal) and DS going with DH. DD could hardly press the pedal down. She would never be able to do it on her own...despite being in gymnastics and is very strong for her size. Anyway, I did the pedal for the race and then DD did the gas when we were pulling up to park. She did rather well. She turns 12 in August, so it won't be long before she is asking for the keys to our car .The kids then wanted to ride the teacups, which I've always avoided due to motion headaches that can occur. DH didn't want to do it, so I bit the bullet and went on. Given that I had already done RR twice, I figured I was going to be ill, but for the kids, I would do anything . So, here I am...![]() I spun the kids way faster than DH ever did. We laughed our head off, with me having my eyes closed the whole time. However, no headache . What fun.By this time, the fireworks were about to go off, so we wanted a decent position. We usually go behind the castle for the fireworks (given that we don't like crowds). Here are some shots of the castle that I took earlier.... ![]() ![]() I'm really loving this camera. After the fireworks (at 10), we headed back to POTC, it had been closed earlier in the evening. It was open for EMH and we basically walked on. We walked through the Emporium looking for the Minnie plush for DD, none to be had....they checked the inventory system and there weren't any at the parks and there might be some at the warehouse. I guess we will have to check again in August. We decided it was 11:00 and the next day we had to head home. We had discussed going to AK for EMH in the morning, but decided to sleep in, check out as late as possible and then head to Beaches & Cream for lunch. We got back around midnight and went to bed. Final post and final day...
We got out of bed late had some of the muffins that I brought from home, the kids went for a swim at the small pool by the villas and we went to B&C for lunch. It was a basic mirror of the previous meal, but DH and I shared a chocolate cake and both kids had a Mickey Sundae. Our ME time was 12:40 and we were very sad to go. While waiting for the bus, we got talking with another couple that had just been there for 6 days on their first trip with the kids. Gave them a quick review of the DVC etc, gave them this site and they sounded like they would likely check it out. Isn't DVC's best advertising current DVC owners??? Anyway, the plane left on time, with some minor irritation by my at the people that want to take their dear sweet time sitting down when they get on the plane. A little bit of turbulance on the way home, but it was uneventful. We landed on time in Buffalo, stopped at McDonald's for something quick and headed for the border. The back seat looked like this for most of the hour and a bit drive home.... ![]() It's funny that even though it was only 3 days, it felt like it was at least a week! We did everything we wanted to do, and then some. I guess we are so comfortable at WDW, we know everything to expect and get straight to vacation mode as soon as we arrive. What a great short trip! |

Thank you so much to taking the time and sharing. You had a great trip. The butterflies are gorgeous. How old did the girl in the "pink outfit" look like - sometimes I think about college initiations
. Who knows what's on their mind regardless.

She would have been in her late teens. She was with another girl with bright pink hair and a guy that had the crotch of his pants down around his knees. He must have been in his glory. Not sure where they came from, but the girl in pink was clearly planning on having a good day at the parks dressed as she was. In our opinion, the CM's were correct in not allowing her in...clearly inappropriate.
