Day 2...

Up early and quietly left the room while everyone was sleeping. Off to Publix for the groceries and to look for some beach chairs and an umbrella.
The morning drive also gave me an opportunity to see the surrounding area. I quickly discovered that Disney's Vero Beach is in the middle of nowhere (which is a great thing in my opinion). In my ten minute drive I saw Publix, CVS, Walgreen, Burger King, a bait and tackle store and a lot of condominiums that seem to be set up for the 55 and older community. As for the city of Vero Beach...didn't see it for the resort is really closer to a town called Sebastian.

Picked up the groceries at Publix and back to Walgreens for two chairs and an umbrella ($30 for the set). Drove back to the resort where my family was having some cereal and watching Disney Junior.

After a quick bite myself, we were off to the pool.

The pool area is incredible with a decent sized pool, great pool slide, pirate ship splash area, miniature golf course, pool side restaurant, sauna and community center. Every morning at 11:30 there is a pool party for the kids and we were regulars at this event. The party consists of two or three CM's that get all the kids together and they play games such as swimming races, beach ball toss, hot potato and hulla hoop contests. Music is playing and my kids loved every minute of the party.

At the pool, even though it was crowded, there was never a problem getting an area to sit, and we set up shop by the pirate ship splash area, daily. Towels are given to you in the room but you can exchange them at the pool for fresh towels when needed. There is a restaurant that serves poolside burgers, dogs, sandwiches and has a refillable soda station (we didn't buy mugs this trip). We brought beer, juice boxes, soda and water to the pool on a daily basis and it seemed that everyone was doing the same (so no need for the mugs this trip).

Around 1:00 back to the room for lunch than onto the beach.

Is it wrong that I want to go down the slide in the last photo. I would probably break the ship.

The pool looks really nice.

Lovely pictures again, and vero beach suddenly becomes appealing!

My geography is terrible- is the sea water warm enough to swim in throughout the Summer?

I splashed with the kids every day...but didn't climb up onto the ship.

Thanks. The ocean temps were perfect in April and I'm sure the ocean temps are even warmer in the Summer. We were in and out of the ocean the whole stay without one complain about the water being too cold. A little windy on the beach our first day but the weather for the next three days was incredible.

Day 2 contin.

Time for the beach. We walked over to the beach, finally got onto the sand and set up the chairs and umbrella. Now I was a little nervous that Vero didn't have the best beach in the world, reading that it is on a cliff, too narrow, water is too rough, etc. The people that wrote negative things about the beach must not have been there the week we stayed for the beach was amazing. It has a wide private beach with great sand and the water was very calm three out of our four days (first day was a little windy with some waves but not overbearing waves at all). My wife absolutely loves the beach and the beach at Vero did not disappoint her one bit.

We spend several hours on the beach and loved every minute of it. But we could not do the sunset this day for we had a pirate character dinner scheduled at 6:30. So we packed up the stuff early and off to the room to get ready for dinner.

To be continued with the Pirates Dinner with Goofy and Donald on deck.

Nice to read a TR on a different resort. I understand it is a place people often go for a few nights before or after a cruise.
Thanks for posting. Carry on, please...

Really enjoying your TR! The pics are great and you've already answered many questions I've had about Vero. This wll definitely be in our future plans. Your girls are just adorable!

Jay, I am enjoying the TR very much. DW and I will be there in two weeks for a few days so I am looking forward to the rest so I can better plan things to do while we are there outside of the pool/beach.
