Does anyone have advice on 180 day advance booking? I am planning to book the Wild Trek, but after our trip to Aulani and the Mickey diamond necklace my DH surprised me with, I would rather wait to purchase the tour for 6 ppl. I'm afraid if I wait too long it won't be available. I'll book now if the wise opinions on MO think it's prudent.

Happy trails,
Jennie

Can I book one of the tours while I am there or should I book it in advance?

Aqua Seas tour is definitely worth it. My son was the minimum age when I first brought him. He panicked with the scuba equipment and the fact he couldn't breathe through his nose. The dive master took him patiently and let him practice until he got the hang of it. We loved the tour so much, I went back with my daughter, the same son, and my husband for a second tour the next year.

Pass on the Dolphin tour - the tours at Sea World (Trainer for a Day) are more expensive, but better. Disney is always wonderful, but you can do more at Sea World. you should know that for the Dolphin tour, if the dolphins don't want to participate, they don't have to. One usually does, but if the others don't want to play, they don't.

Horseback riding is okay, but not great if you are skilled with horses.

There were some people who walked up and asked if they could join the seeds tour. We met at the desk station near The Land. I love that tour...it is cheap too. Something like $18.00 per person.

I think most of the tours you want to book in advance. Maybe have a few options of what day on the trip you want to go.

I really fancy the keys to the kingdom tour, has anyone taken a 16 year old before? Did they like it? Also, what discount do we get as DVC members?

Edited: found the discount that applies... but can anyone shed any light on the my other questions?

We took our 16year old daughter and she loved it! Our son is finally 16 and he will be gettng to go on it this December. He's looked forward to it ever since his sister was able to go!

All of the tours I have taken have been great and well worth the money spent, in my opinion. I had an even greater appreciation of the parks and the Imagineers and Cast Members afterward. All of the guides were very, very good.

Keys to the Kingdom
Wild by Design
Backstage Safari
Around the World at EPCOT (Segway tour)
Gardens of the World (Special Flower and Garden Festival edition)
Backstage Magic
UnDISCOVERed Future World

That's a nice idea for a birthday gift. Gives the younger ones something to look forward to. Maybe I'll tell OB that's what he's getting for his 16th - think he'll remember?!
