Well said! As I've said before, Mouseowners is like AA for me. I'm Angie and I'm a Disneyaholic!

I don't see what the big deal is. Other people like to do things with their kids like camping, fishing, hunting. Why can't I take my kids to Disney World every year?

I agree with you. I think that folks generally think going to WDW is very expensive and don't understand how we can afford going multiple times per year. They don't understand that with our DVC membership room costs are covered, we have APs, we eat in our room a lot, and we use our TIW card when eating out. While WDW can be expensive, we are able to manage the costs and don't spend nearly what someone who just goes once on a cash ressie spends. I also think people have a limited perception of WDW as just an "amusement park". There is so much more than just the parks. For us, every vacation is a little different and we try to do something new every visit.

Well not really. I think AA is trying to help you quit an addiction. MO is just enabling the addiction! And I love it.

On that point, these are the same people who spend money on campers, trips to ski resorts, etc. So it's not like these complainers aren't spending the same type of money.

Living in Florida and having DVC we tend to take many small vacations through the year rather than one long one so we hear the "You are going again!" very often. Usually it is more so because of the cost that everyone ties to going to Disney. I explain that we have seasonal passes and a time share so cost is minimal if we can control ourselves. Heck we spent three days and only spent around $150 once. I can spend that at home in one day with the family.

The other comment I get is "don't you get board with that place" (father in laws comment) Many do not know all the different things that can be done at the parks. I have gone to Disney roughly 30-40 times since I was a kid and yet have done a single tour gone to one of the water parks or eating at every restaurant so I have many more trips to take. Besides they are all just jealous.

I am not afraid to tell everyone I know I'm going again! I keep finding secret Disney Lovers and they come out of the woodwork when they hear me squeaking like an excited small rodent!

As for costs, you are right, after eight trips as DVC members we are starting to save on our stays, and Suflay and I just got back from a week at WDW and my food costs for our studio stay was only $268; almost all TS and CS restaurants. APs and good use of airline miles help too. I don't go anywhere else but to work and to the gym and save as much as I can so I can afford my twice yearly trips to WDW from the West Coast. Gotta enjoy it before I get too old!

That is so true. I went in for a pedicure a while ago and the nice lady who did it for me asked where I was going for Spring Break, I said Disney and she got this funny look when she asked if I had ever been there before. I laughed and said Yeah, like 16 times. She looked so relieved as she confessed that she would be headed there for her 22nd trip with her 20 year old son and her husband. We talked Disney for the next hour and had wonderful time. It was like she had found a fellow addict, that understood her.
