Default Once Upon a "Dream" and VWL and BCV

Departure Day 4/13/12

We spent the night at the Comfort Inn at TF Green (Providence). It worked like a charm. For $88 we got the room and the ability to leave the car for the duration of the trip.

The room was a double with 2 queen beds. It was no deluxe villa but it got the job done. It was clean and quiet. We only heard 1 jet all night.

We reserved a spot on the complimentary shuttle for the morning. Our pick up time was 4:30 AM. We also asked for a wake up call at 3:30 AM. OF course the only one of us that heard it was DW LOL. DD and I slept right through it. We got showered and dressed and I got the cart for the luggage. We were downstairs by 4:25 and by 4:28 we were on our way to the airport!

We breezed through security with no problems. and by 5:00 I was in line at Dunkins for something to eat. We will be doing this again in the fall for DDs birthday trip. This airport makes travel so easy.

Our flight went off without a hitch. We actually left early. The flight was smooth and the crew was friendly. The only bad thing was someone across the aisle kept farting.

We landed early and headed to ME. There was no one in line and after we got in the queue for VWL a CM took us right into the bus with no wait. By 9:13 we were on our way. There are only 2 stops and we are first! There are only 8 people on the bus including us. This is also a brand new bus. It even has new bus smell! It has HD screens for the movie.

We got to WL and as luck would have it they had a room ready! Yea! It's on the second floor and has one of the best views of trees!

After loading the dishwasher and putting our bags away we grabbed a quick snack and headed to the dock for the boat ride over to MK. We love that boat ride. This is not a recommended park for today but we told DD she could go through the regular line at Pooh so she could play. The MK is a mob scene so we won't be here long and DD has already expressed an interest in the pool.

It took every second of the posted 30 min wait to get through the line. It was probably closer to 45 mins. DD was happy though. After that it was getting close to lunch time. We had planned on QS but DD doesn't really like a lot of the QS meals in MK. We decided to take our chances as a walk up at Tony's. She really likes it. DW and I could take it or leave it. They told us the wait was going to be 25 mins. It really was 5 mins. We got seated in the front glass house section.

After ordering and having lunch we realized our TIW card had expired so we went to guest services to get a new one.

We then rode the train down to the storybook circus area. It was hot as blazes here. I wonder why. It's going to look great though when it's done.

We then hit the peoplemover. A fave of the girls. Then we did carousel of progress. That song is almost as bad as IASW for getting stuck in your head.

We then left the park to hit the pool. We we t to the quiet pool except it wasn't exactly quiet. There were some young boys hogging the pool. Other than that it was nice and we spent about 90 minutes there.

We went back to our room to get cleaned up and pick up a few things in the store for breakfast. A few things turned into the food and some puzzles and a t shirt and a tote bag and some hair clips! LOL. DD also traded pins with the CMs in the store.

Tonight we are eating at Whispering Canyon. DD requested it. Turns out it wasn't for the food. The entree she picked out she didn't really care for so DW switched with her and the. DD wasn't wild about that one either. She doesn't like overly seasoned meals. Hers was the chicken and pasta from the adult menu and while I thought it was tasty she felt it had too much pepper. DW had the meatloaf and DD did better with that but our meatloaf at home is much more mild. This had an obvious taste of green pepper and onion. She made it through, barely.

After dinner we went to pin trade in the lobby. DD got to trade with the concierge who let her trade as much as she wanted. Then she traded with the DVC guy and the lady at the pin kiosk.

We are already really enjoying VWL. The setting is beautiful and the shorter halls are nice. Our room was clean and everything appeared to be in order. The in room wifi worked without a problem on all our phones and the MacBook Air.

Tomorrow will be an interesting day. We are going back to the MK for at least half a day. We might hit Epcot for a bit if possible. We need to pick up the rental car (which we've never done here,) and get back in time for Artist's Point for dinner.

We love PVD too. Prefer it 1000% to Logan. Thanks for the tip on the hotel. I may have to consider that for a future trip. I think your price is less then we usually pay to park off site at Preflight.

Enjoy your time at my fav home away from home. I miss VWL.

We also REALLY enjoyed the resort last feb. The boat ride to MK is delightful, plus u can hop on the monorail for epcot. This is where my add on will be, whenever that is.

Why did you run the dishwasher first? Enquiring minds want to know?

Yay, a trip report! I love that your family seems to stay in a different resort every trip so I get to learn more about them.

I hope you enjoyed Artist's Point - that was my favorite the last time I was there.
