We have Ryan for the weekend....... First thing I heard this morning was "Grandpa!" over the monitor.

Memorial Day weekend will find us home.
Oh, I will get them out of bed ... thankfully my father was kind enough to show me some interesting ideas on that subject!

Very nice, what do you guys have planned for the weekend? I like the donut picture!

Yeah, that was what I was thinking also. Later tonight (too nice to be inside today) i promised the wife I would take a look at the drive, see how we could break it up.

If anyone's done the drive, I would love to hear suggestions or any positives or negatives.

How long of a drive is it for you? We're looking at 22-24 hours so we fly for now. Maybe when Kim has more vacation time and we can dedicate a few days to it. I love to drive and a road trip is always fun.

Thanks for comments about Ryan, grandparents love to spoil and show off their grandkids.......

Mapquest says 18 hours so with stops we are probably looking at the Sam amount of time. Will probably split it into two days so if we leave Friday we will get 5 days in the parks (Sunday - Thursday and part of Friday. I don't mind a road trip but I was sort of envisioning a convertible ... Not a mini van

hello MO friends. Greetings from Bar Harbor Maine. Having a weekend with friends and a deal too good to be true from Groupon. We have a very nice room for two nights, a bottle of wine and homemade chocolates to die for along with a quiet time of year and seasonally warm weather! hiking today and tonight we are going to a restaurant serving the menu from the Titanic. They suggest we wear period clothing like they did one hundred years ago. We didn't bring any so we stopped at the drug store in town and bought water wings! My DH will wear those because ladies and children should be safe, right? The Inn keeper is looking for life jackets for our friends...let you know later if we survive. Have a great weekend all!
