My family LOVES DTD. We always visit the first evening we drive in. TRex Cafe is a must-do for our little paleontologist.

DD and I love Basin and the other shopping opportunities. Christmas ornament shopping is almost a religious experience for us.

The boys love the Lego store.

DD had her 16th birthday dinner at Fulton's - the service was exceptional and the food was outstanding.

EoS was yummy too.

WoD is a great place to preview some of the Parks merchandise. Plus I have found their Chamilia bead selection to be one of the largest. Sometimes the other Park store locations are out of some of the beads.

For us it really isn't a Disney trip without a visit to DTD.

When PI was still had the clubs, I would be at DTD nearly every night of my trip, generally just to go to the Adventurer's Club. Now, I tend to go once per trip to do some shopping and get something to eat. That being said, I am very much looking forward to Splitsville opening this fall.

I admit I can't remember the last time I went to DtD to shop. Since the merchandise in general has become far more generic I haven't wanted to stop there as much. I have gone just for the food, but if we aren't staying at OKW to enjoy the boatride, we usually don't bother to go.

We enjoy DTD and the boat ride over from OKW. Lots of good eating places and my DW loves the shopping!

If we stay at SSR, we end up at DTD for the restaurants. If we stay elsewhere, we end up at DTD for the restaurants. The difference is the frequency.

We go for a leisurely break from the parks mid trip..to do shopping cause we dont waste our time shopping at the parks..We go for the rides ..period!..SO DTD is alright..we go for 4 things and 4 things only...Earl...Ghirardelli's..and a movie..browse the shops.

We "rescue" a second tree now -think Charlie Brown and a sad looking reject clearance tree at Home Depot a few days before Christmas, and we turn it into a Disney wonder with all the ornaments we've collected.

We're right there with you. One of the main reasons we bought SSR.

I guess I never thought that many people cared about downtown disney. Thanks for all the replies. We are usually all about the rides when we go to Disneyworld so downtown disney never seemed all that apealing even though we have been there several times.

We don't have kids, so after so many visits, trips to WDW become about the whole experience. Our first 2-3 trips, I was all about the parks. Since then, I'm as much about the resort, dining, and just enjoying the whole WDW experience. We will generally have 4 park-intensive days out of a 10 day vacation. The rest of the time, we'll be in the park for 2-3 hours in the AM or Pm and that's it.

Places like DD start to become part of the routine. All that varies is the frequency based on where we're staying.
