Yes. Yes I am. I don't care if they grandfather in current resale owners. Just any new resales. And before anyone says it. No you cannot purchase a timeshare with the thought of making money on it down the road. Sometimes the stars align and it happens but it is more likely that you'll get into a car accident.

That would work too.

Or make that channel available only for resale buyers ???

The Grand Villas will only be 147 units how does that compare to the other resorts in DVC?

See DVC Mike's excellent post, "Breakdown of units at each DVC resort".

Here's the ranking by size from that post:

Code:
RANK RESORT UNITS ROOMS
1 SSR 888 1320
2 OKW 531 761
3 AKV 458 708
4 BWV 383 532
5 BLT 295 428
6 BCV 208 282
7 VB 172 208
8 VWL 136 181
9 HHI 102 123
10 VGC 48 71
So it'll be slighty more units than VWL, but less than VB or BCV.

Thank you for posting that, the reason I asked is that is that I want to buy some Floridian points. The size of the resort looks like you will need the 11 month booking window. I could care less about the area but I love the resurants near or at the Grand Floridian, I got my wife hooked on Reuben Hotdogs and she loves the breakfast at the Poly and I found out that you can get the pineapple ice cream, I can't wait for it.

Warning, that self serve pineapple soft serve is dangerous. When you ride the monorail from MK or Epcot to GF, you will be just a few steps away from it.

All good reasons to buy at GFV.

On this last trip, we went to Captain Cook's for the first time. It is one of the better, more interesting deluxe resort CS restaurants, for sure.

Cool Observations.....

Glad to hear VGF announcement....many love the resort but, with the monorail needing a new model of trains not sure how much of an increased load it can take.

Happy for Fox News! (we were @ Aulani when President Obama was in HI and held fundraiser @ Aulani. Interesting that Fox News was on in room line up before his arrival yet disappeared day after and not available rest of stay ???!.)
Not setting up for conspiracy theories or debate just stating facts......

We always have bought tiw with annual passes. This is good for members who don't have a need for annual passes / dont live in FL.

As for VGC we own lots of points there and find it difficult to get the room size at the time we want (we're east coasters too!) Last week we stayed at Disneyland Hotel and we were pleased, new pool is very cool, room rehabs really great but wanted VGC! The flexibility of Using for at least a regular room will be ok.

Interesting thread.... I am good with most of the changes, though it is very unlikely I would buy GF and don't care about Fox.

Still it is interesting to read everyone else's opinion...

Cheers!

Barb initial sales of any DVC resort can be bought resale, The difference being you don't get all the perks as if you bought it Directly from DVC, ie. can't use the points on all that DVC Offers.

Don't know if we'll buy Grand Floridian DVC, But we'll use it
I'm Glad to hear about TIW, we'll use it
