I don't have much doubt that walk-ins would easily make up for accepting fewer ADRs. The tables would still be full but less people with ADRs would be waiting for tables. The money would still be there and most people would understand the lowered availability of ADRs.

And short of 3 cases in over 100 ADR's we've made, that's been our experience at Disney. I've also been seated close to on time at reservations outside at Disney with pretty much the same rate of success. Which is why I keep using system.

Anybody with different experiences is always welcome to stop using the system.

Not my experience,
I booked Tonys , the parade comes around, and what do you know i have to wait 40 min for my table.
Ive booked mama melrose, wait as 30 min.crystal palace 30 min, chef mickeys 30 min.

Its funny to me that you always result to nastiness at the end of all your arguments. If you dont like ppl complaining about certain policies , perhaps you shouldnt be on a website designed for ppl to discuss .

Not sure why being direct and to the point is considered "nastiness", but we couln't agree with you more. Don't like it, don't use it. There is no way to determine exactly why or when a delay is going to take place. You gotta roll with the punches, folks.

While waiting to be seated at Le Cellier recently, I was informed by the staff that the restaurant always overbooks by 20%. Further, there are always walk-ins at the top restaurants to make up for no-shows. This new charge for no-shows is just another scam to increase profits and will certainly decrease my bookings for the signature restaurants which aren't that signature anymore anyway.

I especially loved how the combo of parade and Tony's wasn't considered an exceptional situation.

Don't want to have to possibly wait at Tony's? Then avoid parade times. Wonder if some think having to wait at the R&C around illuminations is also a big shocker.

I'm all for "scams" that increase my chances to get a reservation because I won't be canceling and those who might be inclined to do so won't book

Cheers.

Well than if disney were to treat this as a REAL reservation instead of a fastpass, they wouldnt have overbooked for that particular time.
Thats the point, if I wanted to just ditch my reservations for the parade I would be considered a drain on the system. But since disney can make a few more bucks over booking at that time, they have no problem letting me wait 30 min.
My point wasnt that I was shocked at the wait,
the point is, is that if disney has no problem overbooking, Im not gonna treat it as a real reservation,

I'm not sure I understand how the no-show fee could be a scam. I wouldn't be surprise to learn that the overbooking is probably a result of the large number of no-shows and the charge will hopefully limit that problem. If it's as bad as I've heard, I can't blame them for overbooking to hopefully limit the impact. I wonder how many times a walk up guest sees available seats only to be told "we're booked" were tables being held for no-shows.

As for Mike, he states his opinions. No fluff.
He has just as much right to voice his opinion as you do.
