Default What a sweet story!

Welcome Monorail Red! If you're a weirdo, I guess I hope to be! I'm 50 and didn't get to go to Disneyland/DisneyWorld until I moved to Calif in 1981. I have gone twice a year since (summer and Christmas -- even before I had kids)! As Disneyland AP holders, we probably average 4-5 times a year now. Can't wait until we make our first WDW visit as owners...! (that will probably be in summer 2013)

In 1980 when I was 9 years old, my parents took my sister and I to Disney World for the first time. We stayed in the Contemporary with a view of the Magic Kingdom. I have never gotten over that most perfect vacation, and I have been to Disney World 23 times since. In 2009, my wife and I purchased our DVC membership at Bay Lake Towers. The first night we were there, my wife and I stood on the roof with a glass of wine and watched the fireworks. Right in the middle of the festivities, my wife looked over at me and there were tears rolling down my cheeks. She asked me what was wrong, and I simply told her that at that moment, seeing the Contemporary to my left, the Magic Kingdom to my right and my best girl at my side, I was never happier in my life... and I finally felt "home".

I hope sharing this story means that I'm among friends and y'all don't think I'm a 41-year old weirdo

Default New to the Board and Really Imptressed

Hi. I am a DVC member and was really excited to find this board. It is filled with information and people seem to be very helpful. I am a mother of 7 - Yes 7! We went to Disney for the first time in July 2009. I took my whole family, my parents , my brother and his son. It was quite an experience. They said I was militant about schedules! I was because I wanted to see so much. My youngest 2 were just babies at the time (twins). We had such a good time, that I decided to invest in the Vacation Club. It is worth the dollar for a family my size especially. We went again that Christmas then every Summer after that. This is the first year we don't go. We were going to try a cruise but had to cancel. I look forward to going back.
