You could not pay me enough to do Kingda Ka. My nephew loves it.
Scott! Glad you enjoyed the 1st part of many ...

The sad part about "tripping" outside WDW is you get spoiled on location, proximity and availability! So going to these theme parks makes you spend a lil more perfect example is the Flash Pass at SF but it is so worth it! You get this gadget thingie and you program the rides you want to do in order of how you are planning your day... it vibrates when it's 10 minutes before and kept on going till you get there... now you go to your next ride... flash your pass and you go on the ride!!! which was AWESOME!!!!!! no wasted time!!! even how long and how busy the park is !!! So yup... I am now spoiled by the Flash Pass and will never do any SF without it!!!

2ND Perk I love about these other parks is like with BGTampa... if you have the platinum pass you can re-ride that ride you are on!!! No need of leaving that seat!!!!!! Can you imagine that if we have that at RNR coaster!!!!! Same thing with the Cedar Entertainment... if you have the platinum pass you can have 2 rides at one wait!!! "You got me at 2 rides" !!!

I know I know if Donald hear me talking like this it will be the end of us

Well the next update wont happen till next week... Will be away trekking this weekend with more steel and loops to conquer!!!

to be con't...

subscribed!!

My favorite coaster in BG, VA has always been the Alpengeist (sp?) but I also love the Big Bad Wolf. I won't comment on Nessie, since you SKIPPED her...

Can't wait to hear more!

If you are able to, I would suggest Dorney Park located in Allentown, PA. TThe Thunder Hawk is one of the oldest and best wooden coasters in the U.S.

There are also four other (newer) coasters that are just wicker.

Too bad the flying dutchman is no longer ther. That was a wickedly high and srightening coaster.

KatiebugsMom (DW to me) suggested that I read and extend my Kudos, which I with a very green face do so!

The year of our "babymoon" was a tour of amusement parks for roller coasters and dark rides. From January-August we toured 13 parks and I logged 39 unique coasters in that year, which is my personal record. A couple of closures and other "can't rides" for various reasons kept me from hitting 40 and I don't think that we will ever tour that ambitiously again.

I will say that we are looking forward to Katiebug's "coming of height" so that she will better enjoy trips to Cedar Point and King's Island. We're holding off on these until then, hoping that she will either get over her dislike of the "big hills" or at least continue to subscribe to the "ride it at least once" policy.

My current logged count is 113 unique coasters, plus one logged re-ride on a transplanted coaster. However, this is EVERYTHING and not just the Steel Monsters! (Again, green-faced...I don't have nearly as many miles logged on steel and that's not because I won't ride anything in front of me! I've yet to set foot in a SF park, but hope to sometime soon.)

Faves for me are The Beast and Flight of Fear (King's Island), EE (AK), Leap the Dips (Lakemont Park), Giant Dipper (Santa Cruz Boardwalk), The Jack Rabbit (Kennywood: double dip!!!), Nessie, and The Hulk (IOA).

Best of all thrills on the rest of your journey! I'd love to see your lifetime checklist sometime!

Chris

thank you DW of yours and Chris for checking out... just got back yesterday from a roadtrip to Sanduscky Ohio and on our way down hit hershey park...

Checklist... have to sit down and list that down, never really had journal anything... between 1985 to 1990 I know I have done every single amusement park that I can reach in California... as off yesterday I clock in 61 rides (coasters and water rides) from April '11 to August 11, My goal was really just 41 before my bday next year... So I guess BGT and SW and Aquatica will just be bonuses when I go hit it in October.. sad to say I am running out of time to do KD and DP

proper update will follow... again thank you for stopping by!

I am not 21 anymore bengay patches are my new BFF

I am not a coaster fanatic myself, but I have raised two. I am familiar with lots of the rides that you mention in your posts. We have taken our boys to Disney (of course), Universal, Sea World, Busch Gardens (Tampa and Virginia), Six Flags, Dollywood, King's Dominion, and their favorite - Cedar Point. They loved Top Thrill Dragster! My 15 year old has a coaster wish list, and his top places to visit are 2 Six Flags parks - one to ride Kingda Ka, and one in California. Good luck with your goals - may sound crazy to some, but not in our household!

due to injury my knee was not able to do Dragster but really not feeling bad since 2 weeks prior was able to do Kingda Ka a few times... the tallest coaster in the world and 2nd fastest in the world!!! Same logic as The Dragster... I was telling PirateMel and NH_Bubba I am ready for Abu Dhabi where they have the fastest also an intamin which is the Formula Rossa located at Ferrari World!!!!!! And Japan's Takabisha!!!

We just got back from Cedar Point last week. I know Dragster is very close to Kingda Ka. But PLease tell me you did not miss Millenium Force. That is the best coaster. The first hill is killer.
