Thank you- MouseOwners is a wealth of information.
It is not a bad deal... however, it is not the best deal compared to some of the ones you see here.

But you have to look at the philosophy of purchasing...if you are buying it to consistently use it for yourself, a few dollars more per point will not make a long term difference. Then there is the time and aggravation looking for these record setting bottom of the barrel deals. Trust me.. it is not easy at all!!

For some large point holders, it is very important that we buy at the absolute bottom, partly because we enjoy the challenge of the hunt but also because we really don't care how fast we get a particular contract.

It takes a lot of time and effort... and substantial aggravation to get some of the deals mentioned here... as well as being in the right place at the right time.

Will you get a better deal if you cancel and look for something else? Probably yes.. but you will have to start the whole process over again... ultimately, how much is your time worth?

As a general rule, someone who can afford to spend $20,000+ for a vacation makes enough money not to have to go through the time and effort to do this whole thing again.

It is not an easy answer.

Thank you for the replies-think we will stick with this contract.

Which are the three companies you follow?

There is an accepted offer at VWL, $45 per point, 600 points, March UY, banked 2011 points, buyer pays 2012 MF and closing.

We are again reaching new lows

Very nice deal.

My last two contract offers were rejected.

Back to the fishing hole and see what I may catch.

My VWL contract was at $52/pt for 150 points with triple points available. That does not seem all that low considering the amount of points to be purchased.

Quite honestly, I think that's a much better deal than the 600 pointer. I'd never want that many points in one contract, but that's me, and I'm just a vacationer, and not someone renting out my points. 150 or so per contract is about as much as I'd like to have.

Our contract just closed last Friday:
210 VWL points, August YU.
210 banked points, 210 existing points from 2011, and 210 coming in August.
Price was $10,000 plus closing costs - about $47.70 per poiint.
After subtracting the value of the current & banked points, this will only end up costing us about $6500.
We are thrilled!
