I agree with you on “Style” and “Location” but I have issue with the “Quality” of furnishings and construction methods used as compared to previous Disney resort projects.

We agree with the rest of your post. The open sky bridge issue baffles us. At least it's covered. They could have left it completely exposed, or not built it at all.

As to the purchase price and the point price, you are paying the premium because of the Location! Location! Location!
Its not just DVC the same goes for Deluxe resorts through CRO. The 40 year old rooms at the CR or Polynesian are not as nice as the 20 something year old rooms at Yacht & Beach Club, Boardwalk or Wilderness Lodge, but yet you pay a HUGE premium to stay at those resorts because they are on the monorail line.

Just reminding... this isn't a BLT bashing thread.

Well, it sort of has to be in order for people to point out why it is inferior to other resorts. I actually don't believe it is and I have stated why, but I don't see how you can argue the otherside without bashing some of the resort aspects.

I'm a little concerned with the trend to make studios so tiny.

I don't usually stay in them, because I like a little personal space. But, if I was short on points, I definitely would stay in them ( studios that is- NOT a BLT studio )

We usually get a 1 bedroom for Angus, Caroline and myself. For Angus and I, it's a studio. Any more than that and it's a 2 bedroom.

But, if I wanted to fit in one more trip and not borrow, I would NEVER stay at BLT. ( in a studio )

Compared to HHI ( I haven't stayed in a studio at OKW but I'd think it would be comparable to that ) BLT is just not livable for a family ( at least for a family with a mom with space issues )

I can see Disney trying to push families towards 1 bedrooms to force them to spend/and need more points. But, for many families that would like to sleep 4 in a studio, I can see them deciding just to hope for a deal from CRO and have a little more space and a lot more money.

Standing in line at the monorail is not an option because they are too crowded and the long wait there caused the same pain. I am sorry there was not a third option. I hope they never build another resort on the monorail without some type of upgrade.
I would argue that the walk from the MK exit gate to your BLT room is shorter then your walk from the MK exit gate to the MK bus stop combined with the walk from any other resort bus stop back to your room. And you forego the added hassle of dealing with Disney Bus Transportation.

One thing I do like about DVC is getting to experience all the different resorts. We are staying at OKW during the 3rd week in May. We own there and we have not stayed there as a family in 8 years. It will be fun to see what our views are after 8 years.
I don’t think the original poster intended this to be a “bash BLT” or a “my resort is better than your resort" thread. But rather to gather comments from Disney Investors and those with a vested interest on the quality of this project as compared to previous.

Similar threads about other resorts get that label all the time.

My complaint about the "open walkway" was because the stucco coating is very slippery (even in sneakers) when it is misting. Don't know if this is true if it is a full blown rain.
