Thumbs down DVC Sheets are sh...

We just got done with a stay at okw and were very disappointed with the bedding. The pillows were all too tall and firm, but most of all the sheets were scratchy and stiff. They were like paper and crinkly--noisey too. It is like they just back from a trip to the cleaners with heavy starch!

I, nor the girlfriend, don't remember this from past Disney visits. What's up?

That's odd! We were just there a month ago in a renovated unit, and the sheets were fine. Some pillows were very firm and some were very soft, but with 4 of them on the king sized bed, it was easy to find the right one for each of us.

We had a similar problem with the sheets when we stayed at Kidani in August. The sheets there were terrible. They we so rough and noisy, and they felt like plastic. I really felt like going to buy some somewhere. The pillows were terrible too . . . way too overstuffed, and way to small for the size of the bed.

I feel your pain . . . Those were the worst sheets and pillows EVER! I hope they are not changing over to that junk. Those linens can definitely ruin a trip fast!

There is a centralized laundry.

Therefore, if you'd like to change the title of your thread to "DVC sheets are sh...", I'd be happy to help.

One of my biggest complaints.

Hmm centralized laundry, eh? Maybe a thread title change is in order.

Thanks!

PS We just boarded a Carnaval Cruise (sorry Disney). Sheets are nice....

I would agree with the sheet assessment. At any DVC resort I've stayed at, the sheets are sandpaper-stiff. I giggle when I see them try to sell their resort collection stuff in that catalog. I'd never buy anything out of there.

It's not just DVC, it's DISNEY. The "resort catalog" is selling what they SHOULD be using at those deluxe resorts.. "See this is what most deluxe resorts provide, but since we are Disney if you want it buy it from us an an extra cost"

Every time I see that catalog I wondered if I've been missing something or had defective sheets on the bed. I could not figure out for the life of me why they would sell those sheets or who would buy them.

I'm so glad someone else had that same thought.

I thought I remembered reading somewhere the sheets were upgraded, within the past few years, to 250 thread count.

Does anyone else remember this...?

And does anyone else think 250 thread count sheets are something to be all that excited about? I mean, come on... 250 thread count sheets at a resort which its membership compares to a Deluxe resort?

LOL. Ain't that the truth. with my excema / allergies , those sheets were horrible for my skin. I did start requesting to have the sheets washed in baking soda which helped my skin and the sheets seemed to feel a bit better too.

Also, when I stayed at VGC a few weeks back, the sheets there seemed better. And the bed itself was awesome. Very comfy.
