I at first thought...whatever. Then found out there are "chasers" and hard to find ones...and become addicted..then just started buying the case of 24 to gaurantee myself one full set...then i just ebay'ed the other 13 and made my money back. But then the series started to come out so fast...so now i just get the cool ones that are characters or like things in the park...or collectible ones..like the DVC one...the halloween, christmas ones..etc. I have about 100 of em, so on the shelff they look pretty cool and make for good conversation.

Jeez, DH and the girls are *obsessed* with them.

The uglier and weirder they are, the more they like them.

I have no doubt we'll be picking that sucker up in Dec.

I think they kinda draw you in since you don't know what one you will get. DD of course had a certain one she wanted & never got it. So they draw you into purchasing more since you don't pick which one you want.

I should say there is one DD didn't get ahold of. I bought one from last fall/Halloween taht was in a tin & never opened it. That one will stay out of DD's sight. I'm keeping it as is.
They now have this fun, mysterious "trading" game where they sell the vinylmations. You bring the one you don't want, and you point to a black box full of numbers, and they'll show you the one that corresponds to the numbers. Depending on how busy it is and the behavior of your kids and the mood of the CM, they can pick a few times until they get one they want to trade for. Just increases the fun, omg...

I bought the candy corn tin with the Halloween Vinylmation inside and kept it sealed as well. From what I was told it could be the very first seasonal in a tin VM. Then a friend sent me the tins with the Osborne family lights VM. I haven't opened those either. During our last trip DH and I bought a few of the "mystery" pins at the Art of Disney store. You don't know what pin is inside until you open the package. They were all holiday themes. I have Baby new year, St.Pat's, Christmas tree and a turkey one. Fun but I have enough ( or will I buy the member's VM?? ) !!!!!!!!!!

I can just picture you there trying to stay awake completely bored while the CM says to your kids..."what to choose another one?"

Once you start collecting, it is very addicting. We go to trading nights and try to get the ones we really want. The artists do such a great and creative job on some of things, sometimes you forget they are shaped like Mickey's...

I just don't get it, but the children seem to love them.

My wife and I picked up the DVC Vinylmation when we were there. She wanted to get one last year so I figured this would be a good one to start the collection. Another thing to start collecting.....LOL
We went through tropical depression winds and rain to get that thing and we were soaking wet. It was fun though.
