Fox Rent-A-Car

Hey Everyone. We have never rented from Fox Rent-A-Car and were thinking of trying it. However, I am reading terrible reviews about them, but I can't find anything recently. Every review is from 5 years or more back. The gist is that there are hidden fees and deposits. Has anyone rented from them in Orlando recently? If you have, can you please share your experience?

Orlando is the USA's largest rental car market. My recommendation: for heaven's sake just rent from an established and familiar company. But if you're looking for adventure, go ahead and try Fox!

They've been around for years. They are listed as a lot cheaper than the others by about $100 or more depending on my dates. However, I'm hesitant to use a company that I haven't used before.

I wouldn't take a free car from someone other than the big names. Save yourself the headache.

You said you read a lot of bad reviews, then go to say they're $100 less. Is a bad vacation rental experience worth $100?

I have a friend who used them once a few years ago. Never again. Slow, charged more, car was pretty bad. I think the result was you couldn't pay my friend to rent from them. I love saving money, but not like that.

We've gone with the second tier places once or twice and found it's not worth it. When I use Autoslash for tracking I remove those options.

I only do established brands. I have read too may complaints about these new cheaper rentals. They are cheaper for a reason.

To us it wasn't really a gamble in that nothing went wrong. it was about the convenience. In new York they have Off-Broadway and Off-Off-Broadway. These are the latter

In Vegas for example, we took the bus to the main Car Rental Center. Then another bus to go to the site. Similar in San Diego. Not enough savings for us to be worth that.

Yep - I'm with others. I won't rent from anyone other than the major entities. In a vacuum, the savings look big. In the overall cost of a trip, it is minor, and the headaches could be very real.
