Just a quick question about the old(est) refillable mugs
On our first visit to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge in December of 1994, we were in the Roaring Forks buying our morning coffee and were told that if we purchased a refillable mug, that we would be able to use it for every future visit. We reused it for our 1996 and 1998 Christmas visits but then they were misplaced and voila...23 years later, I find them. Has anyone ever heard/ used or still use these mugs?

I haven’t tried it, but I don’t think they work anymore. The new mugs have an RFID chip/code. They are only good for 14 days per mug. I think you probably just have cool souvenirs.

That has popped up now and then where people were told that but no, Disney does not honor that. The cups are now chipped and without that you can't get a soda anyway.

When it was self serve you could go and fill them but now they are doing it for you and there is no dining plans available so ...

we still have one from our first time staying at Pop Century, maybe 200...We were cheap and only sprang for one! And then we were staying in the farthest building from the lobby, so rarely filled it up. Love the memories though.

We bring them along to use in the room because they're nicer than the too-small coffee mugs they provide.

Well before they added the RFID chips to them you could. But those chips were added pre 2016 certainly, not sure exactly when. But long before Covid.

Here now at OKW and bought a mug. If you have a refillable mug they'll fill a separate cup with whatever you want. They're not checking rfid chips. They don't touch your mug because it might have covid coodies. You should be good to go with those old cups.

Well, sure. It's easy to steal now since they're not checking.

The coffee has never been chipped, so old mugs would always work. I did that exactly once. Then I realized what I had done was wrong and never did it again.

But we each set our limits where we choose.
