Default What is the latest on Disneyland?

It seems to me they were supposed to open but called it all off. Anyone heard anything? I haven't, but have been really busy lately. My gut says we wont see it open until November at the earliest.

At this point, I'd be shocked if it opens before 2021. Such a bummer

Only Downtown Disney has reopened. They are still waiting on guidance from CA as to when they can reopen hotels and the theme parks.

They are waiting on direction from the State. On the plus side cases are starting to come down. I'm hopeful for October but not too optimistic.

I understand the paid room reservations have been cancelled through August 22. I have a reservation over Labor Day. Planning on going if the GCH is open.

Anxiously waiting for DL to reopen also.
Should I assume new DVC construction will forever be delayed?

They are taking hotel reservations for September, but will cancel those if they cannot open the parks.

Some of the manager types were at Knott's Berry Farm looking at the food events that Knott's is having. It is possible that Disneyland will open with some type of food only event.

Oogie Boogie Bash is canceled for this year.

My gut feeling back in March was that DL would open in October. I know they want to open ASAP. Perhaps when summer is over, people will follow the guidelines regarding social distancing and masks and the COVID cases will drop enough for themeparks to reopen.

I read someplace that reopening can't be considered until there is a 14 day Covid-19 case trend is less than 100 cases per 100,000. Once this metric is reached Orange County can be considered to be removed from the "watch" list.

I'm not exactly sure were the cases are today, I think they have come down, but not at that metric yet.

Adding a link from the California Department of Public Health if you want to monitor the progression to get to the less than 100 cases in 100,000

LINK ==> California Department of Public Health

Currently it shows Orange County at about 149 per 100,000 for the last 14 days. The numbers are coming down, but not there yet.

Well, news from the West Coast.......we are learning about schools this week.

Granted, I'm 1000mi from Disneyland, but Washington and California seem to behave similarly.......

No in person school here in my district until late January of 2021.

I will be shocked if Disneyland opens this year.
