Default New DVC at DLR

So I came across this in my wanderings... It's interesting. Looks like at least some part of this DVC project at DL is still moving forward. I really like the design, even as I recognize it wont be everyone's tea cups.

I was really looking forward to a new DVC in DLR. I had assumed it was dead now that Covid19 has put such a budgetary hurt on Disney... But maybe not? Am I a fool to have hope still?

While it isnít my particular style preference, itís really interesting. Thanks for posting! Disney doesnít have the available property for a sprawling resort, so this should fit well out there.

I think this would certainly generate profits-cash flow for them once done.

I would think your hope is well founded. I would assume they had the financing in place well before -assuming the lender hasn't reneged - and that demand would still be very high even post C19. It will sell fast IMHO.

Default Disneyland

I will be first in line to buy a small contract. With my first grandchild on the way I will need points there and since Holly Jr is not born yet I can wait

Disney had to cancel their Downtown Disneyland hotel after Anaheim pulled their $267 million tax break. ďThankfullyĒ, DVC owners will pick up 100% (and then some) of the cost of this, so itíll probably continue to be a go.

Agreed, but VGC is resale, with some significant restrictions now... and a price point that's pretty darn high already.

Ultimately it depends on the cost of the new DVC tower's points to me. Too high, and I'll just buy a VGC contract and accept the restrictions. But if it's low enough, I can get "owner" perks. Also, if the price of the new one is within range of current VGC resale, it might depress resale and make VGC more affordable?
Oh now I HAVE hoped too far.

FWIW the recent DVC News article says the project is still in play.
