Default Extending Contract till 2043

This is an oddball thought but bear with me. Say things get real bad and things stay closed for six months or more. If no one could use their points if there was only a few months to use them in 2020 it would really cause a mess for people trying to use their points with no where to stay. Could Disney extend the contracts to 2043 or other resorts by a year or would this even help. Dumb question but I have too much time on my hands at the moment

Not oddball at all. I have been thinking about this same thing. Likely depends on how long the closure is. Doubtful they would do this for a few weeks shut-down.

Never gonna happen. Too much tied to those dates. Then again, they would have 22 years to get it sorted

Cheers.

Wouldn't help me. Doubt I'll even be alive in 2043.

If my contract is extended, then somehow I'll hold on for another year!

Exactly. 9/11/01 was 18.5 years ago. 2042 is 22 years from now. Hopefully, this disruption will be but an historical blip.

Life changed after 9/11. Wonder how it will change after COVID19?

2042 is the end date of the contracts.....There will be no extensions because of the virus, even if the parks were shut for a year.

Yup, me too! As I told our guide when he offered us the contract extension, "Heck, I'll be 91 when it expires in 2042. I figure I'll get a Sultry Seahorse, sit on my balcony, and expire along with my contract!" For some reason, that ended the conversation real fast.

Disney couldnt extend even if they wanted to without each owner approving an extension. It's a contract with a firm end date. The only way to stop it is more signed paperwork where all sides agree
