Default Epcot Resorts Blvd Partial Closure

Just arrived today!

Epcot Resorts Blvd is closed between Boardwalk and Beach Club. So to get to any of the resorts other than Boardwalk you must use the western entrance, I.e. the one closest to World Drive: No idea when this closure began or how much longer it will last.

Surely it is no coincidence that the closed portion is where the road goes under the waterway from Epcot to Crescent Lake.

We have had a front row view of workers dismantling the bridge all week. I was slightly miffed at the view when we arrived but itís actually been fascinating watching all the activity. Word is the work could take a year to complete.

It has been that way for over a month ... the last time I drove under the water I noticed a leak... and joked about a crack in the dam . I guess it needed repair work.

Thatís what we were told. They are reportedly going to level the road by taking the dip out while fixing the leak.

What would be pathetic/hilarious is if they had to close the walkway to Epcot. No that hasnít happened, but if it did they would have to run buses from BC and BW to Epcot! That would (almost) be worth it just for the once in a lifetime experience.

Nightmare scenario. If you want to see where they are currently working take a stroll back to the Oval and past, you know where that is , the bridge over the canal is completely gone.

I need a map or photos to visualize where this work is taking place.
Is this the car route under the international gateway walking path?

If they are dismantling the bridge and fixing a leak in the waterway how are they continuing to operate the boats?

Pumping more water through than is leaking out?

Divers with Bubble Gum? Oh wait, they don't allow that. Duct tape?
