Default Time it takes for Disney to switch names on reservation

Hey I recently rented some points from someone here. I have already sent payment through paypal. I was told that they are awaiting the confirmation/reservation number from Disney (they have already switched our names and info over). Does anyone know how ling this typically takes? Thanks in advance.

In my experience, the confirmation email is usually received within an hour at most (typically within 5 minutes). The confirmation number can also be seen on the DVC website instantly

Typically as soon as a change is made the reservation email goes out. And if it was an existing reservation I believe that they should have already had a number to give you. I'm hoping that all is well but don't let this go on too long without getting the information you need. Too many people getting scammed lately to give the benefit of the doubt, unless they are a known commodity on the boards and this is expected behavior based on your contract.

No I haven't linked anything to MDE other than our annual passes. I truly hope all as well. I did pay with paypal goods and services, so maybe if it doesn't work out, I can call paypal.

3 comments here -

1) "was told that they are awaiting the confirmation/reservation number from Disney" - This is a simple call to Member Services - If the Member had done this they would know the Confirmation number - Red Flag

2) I would never pay a dime to a Member until I had the reservation in my name and loaded into my Disney Account

3) You PayPal comment is unfortunately incorrect - Timeshare rentals are prohibited and PayPal does not guarantee them

Best of Luck

I may have misunderstood, but I thought if you also paid with a credit card through paypal you can dispute the charges with the credit card company and they could reverse it. I could be wrong, but hopefully not.

Using PayPal for timeshare rentals is against PayPal policy, they have frozen my account in the past for this reason.

Paying the fee through goods and services give you a better chance that they'll step in and handle the dispute should you have one. Now I don't know anything about the renter or the process they are using to change the reservation, but confirmation is instantaneous when changing online or by phone.

Don't hope everything is good though. Find out that it is or ask for your money back. If things are on the up and up, the renter should be roughly as responsive to you now as they were before receiving your money.

I'm the renter in this situation. I did check the comptroller site and the names matched up from who I'm renting from. I know Disney won't play the middle man, but do you think if I were to call DVC services and gave them my info, they could tell me if there's a reservation in my name?
