Default Resorts by Sulfur Flavored Water

So, I thought it would be interesting to get a list of resorts based on water flavor. This comes up because I was very surprised that the SSR water in Springs has no sulfur flavor, while at CCV/WL/BRV it was very strong and Brita didn’t make a flavor difference.

Once we get a list, I’ll make it a sticky. Add your data in the replies and the date of your visit in case things change over time. IF there are other water issues, add that as well. I’ll decide if it’s wroth posting, but invariable somebody’s not going to like the binary choices!

For now:

Sulfur Flavor:
  • Boulder Ridge Villas - 2019
  • Copper Creek Canyon - 2019
  • Fort Wilderness - 2019
  • Polynesian Villas and Bungalows - but not Kona (2019)
  • Wilderness Lodge - 2019

No Sulfur Flavor:
  • Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas - 2019
  • Beach Club & Villas - 2019
  • Boardwalk Inn & Villas (disputed) - 2019
  • Old Key West Resort - 2019
  • Saratoga Springs - Springs Section - 2019

Other Water Issues:
  • Hilton Head Resort (Brown and yucky - to be confirmed) - 2019

Would add Polynesian/BLT to Sulfur flavor water list. BLT stronger than Poly. I always joke to my wife that the sulfur flavor makes me feel "like I'm home". She hates it.

Don't notice a sulfur taste at AKV either.

I thought it had something to do with resorts "on the water" so to speak, but when we stayed at BWV awhile ago I didn't notice it in the water there. But we were only there one night before and cruise so maybe that was not a good enough sampling to be scientific.

Confirmed - I was just there last week and the water was drinkable in a glass right out of the tap.

I think the MK area as a whole has it. We asked at the Poly (Kona) why that water tasted fine at the restaurant and we were told they have a filter in the kitchen there. I thought the filters in our Brita sport bottles did a pretty good job at MK.

Well at SSR's Grand opening, I witnessed the Saratoga Springs NY Mayor pour a pitcher of SSNY water into the High Rock Springs pool.

So legend has it, the water there should taste great!

I can normally get away with tap water for coffee but not at BLT and offsite at Sheraton Vistana was really bad taste this past June. I threw away 2 pots of coffee at Vistana.
