Default Farewell, Illuminations

Just a quick place holder and teaser.

We're about to head to the airport for 5 nights at WDW, staying in an SSR studio. Real purpose of the trip is Farewell to Illuminations, but we've filled in some extra fun stuff that we've never done or haven't been able to do for almost a decade. We had hoped to sample the gondolas, too, but it seems that won't happen.
  • Illuminations tonight
  • AK Moonlight Magic
  • Mickey's Not So Scary
  • Jim's Birthdady Dinner at Takumi Tei
  • Galaxy's Edge Preview
  • Final Illuinations Viewing

We're also bumping into a colleague from NJ whose father we buried the day before she was scheduled to leave for her Galaxy's Edge preview (awesome family, and her father was super excited for her to see it), best friends from Florida, a leader of my congregation moving his son into Rollins (what a convenient college for Disney fans), hanging for an evening with an awesome MO couple, and dear friends formerly of Gainesville and now of Huntsville that we haven't seen in four years.

I'm not sure if this is a theme park trip or a reunion tour!

That's all for now . . .

Dirk

8Bright Suns, Dirk! I'm about 30 mins or so from the airport and will be off to Batuu in a few hours myself. Probably should have slept though....

Somebody else posted recently, we sleep when we’re dead! Actually, every morning is planned as a slow morning. Phew!

Yeah, Moonlight Magic, Takumi Tei, and Batuu are all firsts. Illuminations is our special moment. It was the first night show we saw together in 2003 and it became an instant hit for us. Quite astonishingly, as we were driving from Orland to Naples after that trip, the classical station played the soundtrack just as we got onto I-4. Talk about pixie dust timing!

We’ve even joked, “If we leave right now and drive straight through, we’ll be there in time for dinner and Illuinations.”
