Default Booking a week OVER your use year???

My use year is Sept. This year (for 2020) - I would like to book a vacay that overlaps my use year - (Aug. 29- Sept. 4)...

Never done this before - how does it work? Do I need to make two seperate ressies online or do I borrow/bank points or what? It's a relatively popular room - so I'd like to book this at 11 months out....

Anybody had experience with this?

Thanks!

You will probably need two reservation one on your 2019 use year the other in your 2020 use year. 2019 will cover through August 31, then 2020 will cover Sept 1-4

It will require 2 reservations:
  • Aug 29 - Sep 1
  • Sep 1 - Sep 4
If you want to book online, each portion will have it's own booking window.

If you book just the first section and then call MS, they can book the remaining nights for you without needing to wait for the second booking window to open.

Are these replies correct? I would think your start date of the ressie is all that matters. Someone please confirm.

If you call MS, the entire stay can be booked based on the earliest check in date (assuming same booking category for length of stay).

Online booking will not allow you to book a stay that spans UYs as a single reservation, it must be done as two and each will have it's own booking window.

Yes this!

If it is a hard to get reservation, you can book the first day(s) online and call to add the rest once MS opens too.

This is correct. We have a December use year, and we go each year the week after Thanksgiving. We have done it both ways. When doing it online, you need to make separate reservations which then means you have to book the 2nd part a few days later. If you all, you can have it all done at once.

Just being nosy, but what kind of school break do you get? We get most of Thanksgiving week, but nothing that would allow an annual trip the week after Thanksgiving (baby sis is a high school history teacher).
