Default Park attendance drops

MSN has an article on 3% drop in park attendance from April to June.

Reason increase ticket prices.

3% is not enough to feel it in reduced crowds, but a step in the right direction.

I bet revenue is up, though

Cheers.

More people May be making fewer visits to the parks . I see on facebook more people building in more rest days and even beach days .

If you expect massive crowds after SWGE opens, you should expect a huge dip before SWGE opens. This might be different if it were DL and they let the AP holders in, but in Orlando there are a lot of people who don't want to drop a few thousand and miss SWL by a few months.

PAID park attendance is up at Disneyland, per the recent earnings call, but overall attendance is down. This is likely due to SoCal annual pass holders being. Blocked out

There's more to the story than ticket prices, as quoted from the article:

Quote:
In addition to increased ticket pricing, Disney identified several potential factors for the lower-than-expected attendance numbers. For starters, Disney blocked the use of some annual passes until September 3. Also, Anaheim hotel prices spiked this spring. Disney believes some visitors may have postponed their Disneyland vacations due to both hotel pricing and potentially too much buzz around the opening of Galaxy's Edge.

The Star Wars attraction may also be the reason for the decrease of visitors to Disney World. The ride doesn't open at Disney World until August 29. However, Christine McCarthy, senior executive vice president and CFO of The Walt Disney Company, noted on the call, "our survey data suggest that guests are deferring visitation until after Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens, which we believe contributed to the decline in attendance we saw during the third quarter."

The message was essentially "we made it more expensive, so fewer people came, but we nickel and dimed those that did and made more"

Not sure the mouse sees a problem
