Default Anyone else go from AP to "regular" tickets?

I'm just curious-has anyone else gone from being an AP holder to just regular tickets, most likely because they just don't see themselves going to WDW as much any more? After 17 years of being an AP holder, I've let my AP expire, and am planning to buy just "regular" park tickets next visit. I don't see myself needing the park hopper option, I'm just not into the go-go-go thing any more. I've checked the discounts, and I think I'll get as many discounts as a DVC member as I did with the AP. I must admit, though, it does feel a little strange after all these years. Anyone else?

DH and I expire this fall and we're going to regular tix. I had an AP for DS for fall trip but just swapped it for regular tix.

Not quite there yet as we still are planning 3+ trips in a year but can understand your situation. We rarely hop anymore and would rather just hang out at the resorts and DS. I really wish they would offer DVC members decent deals on regular tickets.

Yup, I used to have APs for my entire family at Disneyland and that ended quite a few years ago. We just got priced out with the increases. Additionally, I've held APs at WDW and we haven't owned those in several years either. We find that we're spending less and less time in the park and more time just enjoying the resorts. I bought quite a few NE tickets before they were discontinued, so now if we just want to go in a day or two we do that. The NE tickets I bought also had the waterpark and more option, so going to the waterparks is an option for a day visit as well.

This year due to the SW:GE we did buy APs at Disneyland (hence the number of visits in my signature) but, after they expire I'm not sure we'll renew them again. We'll see....

Yep. Or an Epcot only AP. Would suit us just fine. Occasionally buy tix to the MK parties. Do DS and Epcot. Stay at BWV.

Yes we have - off and on we make the choice and sometimes we renew and other times we don't and get regular tickets.

I let my AP tickets expire a couple of years ago. I am doing less trips than before and when I go, it is for shorter time periods, so regular tickets don’t cost as much as an AP. I can no longer justify continuing the AP cost.

I also wish they would do half day tickets, or other options.

Yes, especially for Disneyland. The passes are just too expensive so if we go it will be for one 5 day trip, probably just once every couple years or so.

We do have a WDW AP that will expire in October. We bought that one when the DVC was offering a great discount on the PAP. We'll squeeze our third trip on the AP just before it expires and will not renew.

We are a bit more focused on international travel now that the kids can manage their own luggage and longer flights so I see us going to Disney less for the foreseeable future.

Yep. My APís expired in November. Iíll price compare before I buy again, but will likely just do MYW tix. APís donít currently fit into my vacation plans.
