Default Alaska Wonder Member Cruise 2020

Thoughts? Is the Member Cruise worth it? What special activities etc.
make it different than a regular Disney Cruise? I've read that we can pay cash, using no points although I know we must have a Membership that allows for member cruising.

We have NEVER cruised... and are torn between the Wonder 2019, an Expedition Cruise to Alaska/Lindblad, and now possibly the member cruise in 2020.
What do we do?? Experienced cruisers... pls. help!

Just my opinion, but I do not feel it is worth the upcharge for a members cruise. I can get a balcony on Holland America and Princess for $1000 cheaper. That is just too good of a savings to pass up.

Alaska is a fantastic cruise destination. For me, I would prefer Princess over Disney for Alaska.....But I would not go on a Disney cruise to Alaska.....It just doesn't suck any which way you go.

The Members cruise is worth doing at least once for the experience.

The cruise is a private charter, full of the most loyal of Disney fans.....DVC members. There are a bunch of things unique that are geared just for DVC members.

We did it once had a blast and met some really great people, who are now friends for life.

The cost is more then a normal cruise, but its not a normal cruise.

I don't think that I'd pay the premium to a Member's Alaskan cruise. We did one member's cruise and it was amazing- but because we had so much fun with our friends. The cruise itself wasn't worth the premium and the swag, which for the most part, you aren't going to use later anyway.

I still haven't planned Alaska, but when I do, it'll likely be on Princess for Glacier Bay. Disney doesn't have a permit for Glacier Bay so that's an automatic disqualifier for me. Also, for that sort of cruise, IMO you 100% need a balcony. The cost of DCL in AK in a balcony for a member's cruise .. I'm sure you could do a Princess cruise in a balcony and tack on one of their land lodges for less.

We have done the Alaska cruise with Disney and we enjoyed it very much. It was one of the best cruises we have done and will do it again in a heartbeat.

As for the member cruise, I think it is not worth the extra money that you have to pay for.

Thanks for your replies! Thinking the Member Cruise is a no.
