Default MDE Hacked

There seems to be some danger of hackers into our MDE accounts . Someone on Facebook posted her MDE account was hacked . Wdw caught a hacker trying to reassign their tickets to themselves . The poster
was notified by wdw. Thier tickets are safe . It is scary .

I hope MDE security is better than we think

That scenario is what has always scared me about Disney going digital. As many problems as IT has on its own, we certainly donít need to add hackers stealing our tickets and CC info. So sad that people have no moral compasses whatsoever.

I know this won't make you feel any better, but it didn't work here either. I suspect (and hope!) we did FPs on the same morning.

Our work network and all 1000 machines got hit by a tracker bot. Literally took us down about 9 work days.

This is serious stuff. This particular trackerbot is a finance aimed and specifically looks at all network and personal hard drives for login and account info and sends it back to the mother ship.

It is possible her credentials were stolen by a bot like this and they then tried to use it on MDE.

Scary Stuff..

Disney took my ticket last week. No help needed from hackers. It took me 40 minutes on the phone to get it sorted out.

Is it possible that Hackers are getting the sign in information by using Key-Logger viruses and trojans on your computer?

I think that most of the stuff people talk about with passwords is just garbage. Why come up with a 'unique, weird, different' password, consisting of a lot of extraneous letters, numbers and symbols when no hacker in the world is actually going to track down YOUR account and hack it. Why spend hours trying to figure out passwords when they have all they can handle from their KeyLoggers and Trojans? So, the only REAL purpose of making a difficult passowrd is to keep your friends, family, co-workers and yourself out of your accounts. Hackers are only going to get in with viruses.

So, make sure you have a good virus program. Run it all the time, and update it regularly. That is how to protect yourself.

As for myself,, I have come up with an Algorithim I use to make unique passwords. I take certain information and combine it with information from whatever entitty, website or whatever I am visiting and I generate a password, just for that site. Then whenever I come back there, I just need to run the algorithim again to recreate the password, and I don't need to remember it.

Now, if a hacker ever got hold of my algorithim they could hack everyithing. But I don't see that as being possible, unless I tell them, or I let a Key Logger or Trojan get me.

Crap. That thought never crossed my mind about unassigned tickets being hacked and reassigned to a different person by a hacker. Not good. Not good at all.
