I would agree, but I'm afraid Disney would figure out a way to charge me for that, too.

Gone are the days of any type of warnings that prices are going up.

Phew. Gold AP did not go up. Buying mine now...

DVC still parks free right? So no charge when staying on points?

I've been telling my wife this for years as a finance guy. You have _x_ target for Star Wars land increases and you work in multiple huge increases long before it opens so that you can raise it again when it opens. I told her that this was all a set up so they could increase prices 2x-4x during 2019-2020 instead of the usual 1x per year. The dynamic pricing also seemed logical given that's the way most sporting events are done these days too.

Algorithmic capitalism.....maximizing every dollar out of their fans and shifting their ideal customer. I'm not saying it won't have negative effects, but let's just say I enjoy watching big businesses squirm during the recessions. They still make money hand over first of course.

Count me in the minority that actually is okay with really high price increases as long as the product keeps improving and stays high quality.

Ok - this completely sucks.

My nieces husband thinks he'll visit parks our first day down, then go visit family, and then come back for the last day. Under the old system you could have bought a 2 day ticket and been set. Now, because the ticket isn't valid for a long enough length of time (which I just noticed is Disney copying the Universal ticket model) you'd need to add the flex date option for $64.68. Want to visit 2 parks a day? Add $70. And suddenly we're at a cost of $205/day.

So then, 2 single day ticket purchases.....$226.26. If we want to hop? Add $60 per ticket - more than 50% of the base price for a total of $394.06 or $197.03 per day.

It's been high quality for years. That's what built their reputation. Then they started coasting counting on the Disney devotion and they upped their profits. It's not that they need to increase tickets to increase quality. They are increasing tickets prices to increase their bottom line.

It is suspected that AP prices will get another bump soon too so it is good to buy now.

High quality?

Guess I have higher standards than others because to me Disney’s quality has slid to “sliglty above average” and certainly not worth a huge premium. Guess I’ll spend my $$$ at the dark side next year. Quality seems better, price was dramatically bettet.
