Default Mid-June vs. Late August

I am doing some forward planning for 2020. Can anyone compare crowds in mid-June (15-22) to late August (22-29). Crowd calendars indicate that levels are MUCH lower in late August, and weather is about the same, but the June dates would fit better into our wider plans for the year.

Is August really that much better? How do the two compare?

I think crowd levels are about the same. I have been the end of August and it is still within my favorite time to go, but we have been going over the 4th of July lately. Crowds up to the week of the 4th are about the same as the end of August.

I agree....Both times are about the same. End of August will be slightly lower in crowds, but more hot & humid.

We go almost every Labor Day weekend and usually have a pleasant trip....crowd wise.

Things may have changed a bit over the years but we did Mid June and late August several times and June had more crowds but more tolerable weather. August, less crowds, less tolerable weather.

There is a reason why free dining is offered in late August vs mid June.

Default August

Late August other then the last weekend should be much less, because depending on the state many kids are back in school. You need to check on the year. Same reason the end of august is different pricing for DVC points.

We have done both. Without exception, it has been hotter in NJ (and just as muggy) than in WDW in August! We have found crowds more tolerable in August since much of the country is back to school.

Aug can be so humid it is hard to even breathe . It is like a sauna hits you in the face .

Very fair point. Sucks in New Jersey too, may as well be in a far more pleasant place overall.
