Default River Country new resort...info?

Well, I spotted this a few minutes ago. It seems Disney has selected a construction manager for the new resort!

From the article:
It is expected that this resort will have around 300 DVC rooms (2-bedroom equivalent units, which can be separated into 1-bedroom units and studios), plus another 400 standard hotel rooms. The hotel will not open for several years, well after the Riviera Resort, the Coronado Springs tower, and the Star Wars Hotel have opened.

Cool if true...we just did the DVC dessert cruise in April and our boat driver talked about it. Our daughter was stoked about it and even looked stuff up about it when we got home. I just showed her and she got very Excited! Thanks for sharing....

Depending on the theming, I just might have to buy direct for that one!

Sounds like Boardwalk as far as the room distribution. The theme should be interesting - hope they incorporate some River Country Easter eggs around the resort!

Actually, I wish they wouldn't do this one. It's going to change the character for Fort wilderness far too much and there's other places they could go instead and leave that one little bit of history still intact. I wish they would do the rumored Epcot location near the front entrance. I also don't know exactly where their land extends around bay lake but they could do something in a different location there. They chose to to do CCV rather than this river country project and I think it should sit for quite a while while other locations are done.

Oh wow! This is been rumored for years and now all the speculation comes to fruition. Fort Wilderness Campground always struck me as peaceful and quiet. I wonder what type of impact this new resort will have on FW.

CCV was more of a renovation that a full resort build (cabins are new, theming is reinvented)
It may take a while to build and expand as the CCV sells and that may determine need.
Fort Wilderness is quiet but may be good draw for non camper types who fly in vs. the cabin rentals (maybe cabin rentals are so popular that and expansion is needed.)
Disney has $$ on its mind and in its pockets.
