Default Are WDW Theme Park Hours Ever Consistent or Follow a Pattern Year Over Year?

I know that with Disney, nothing is a given forever, or even for very long, but for those who consistently go to the parks around the same time/month every year, do you notice that the parks try to maintain a similar schedule year after year? For instance, does the Magic Kingdom typically have EMH on Friday mornings during February, etc.? Or is that too specific? Are there other times or events that people do usually consider a given?

I'm just wondering how people plan for which park which day, ADRs and FPs so well in advance, when opening hours posted online can/do change even weeks before the actual date?

They tend to stick with a system for EMH for a long time (the same parks get morning/evening on a weekly rotation), but then sometimes it will change, though usually with a few months' prior notice. Sometimes the change coincides with a big opening (something that will make a park really popular), but sometimes they just decide to shift their pattern for no obvious reason.

You also can get weeks where the schedule changes from the usual rotation because of a holiday or event (often to put a MK morning magic hours on a Monday holiday), but they'll usually put that in place pretty early.

They rarely shorten hours last minute, but have been known to extend hours with fairly short notice, up to the day of.

This is what I noticed for our trip in February ... they extended the hours on a few days just a few weeks before our arrival. Good to know that they don't do the reverse; I was hoping not.

Are things like EMHs usually posted online before the 60 day FP window? And its just additions to regular park hours (non-event) that are sometimes added somewhat last minute?

FWIW it seems like most of the changes are at MK. 9am openings change to 8am during peak times. Evening closings can change more than once. Last summer a MK closing time went from 10 to 12 to 2 in a span of 4 weeks.

This can (and has) throw a monkey wrench into the best laid plans - that were begun 180 days earlier.

They are cutting things tight in the last couple of years. Years of data with relatively consistent hours but recently they only extend out to them a few weeks out. Ridiculous.

Best I can say OP is that there is some consistency and once hours are listed for you days expect that they may or will change closer to your trip. Of course you can't definitely plan that they will but consistently they do.

EMHs are generally available about 6 months in advance from Disney:

Sometimes (especially around a holiday) Disney will add EMHs to a park, but I've never seen them take EMHs away from a park, once they are published.

Re: park hours of operation, I agree with others - the published hours might be extended, but I've never seen them shortened.

Knowing 6 months in advance (when it comes time to book ADRs) when EMHs will be is helpful. This is one of the main things I was concerned about, as EMHs definitely help determine which day you want to spend in which park. Another thing that comes to mind though are split stays and planning where to stay and when. I know it would be difficult for them to have their schedules 11 and 7 months in advance, but it would be nice for planning purposes.

I agree that they can change the EMH at the last minute. Our recent trip, EMH for MK was 8AM, planned around that...the week we were there, we checked, and it had changed to 7AM. So while it was already an EMH, they made it an EEMH.
But they're available several months in advance . Good luck!!!

Right? I'm a crazy planner who likes split stays, too, and prefer to visit the parks near the resort I'm staying at the time. It drives me bonkers that I have to book 11 months out without knowing the EMHs.
