Default wonderland-tea-party at GF through DVC res won't link

So yesterday I called DVC in order to make a reservation for my girls to attend wonderland-tea-party at the Grand Floridian. I made the reservation through DVC because the link below says members get a 20% discount.

https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go...and-tea-party/

So the Cast member on the phone at first had some trouble finding the special offer but once she did she said there was a 40% discount and made the reservation. She took my credit card and have me the total and a reservation number.

Now I'm trying to link the reservation number to MDE and it won't link. I called MDE but they told me i need to talk to DVC again. Im to tried to make another phone call tonight and I'll do it in the AM.

But my question is ... is it normal to have a delay with linking when making a reservation through DVC? I've never used DVC to make a dinning reservation, always do it online through MDE.

Or am I even going about this all wrong? Is this event not a dinning reservation and I'm trying to link in the wrong place?

Thanks for any help

I just checked the WDW dining page, and it doesn't show there.

I think maybe this isn't counted as a dining reservation, but one of the "tours and events". Those can't be linked in MDE.

What I do is add a note for the day, and add the reservation number to that.

Wow, 40% off is a great deal! I didn't think they offer that much off on anything.

That's a great deal! We did this when we were there in October and it did not show on my DME. I didn't book it through member services as at the time, there was not a discount offered. But I had called about something else and asked them about this showing on DME and they said it wouldn't. I added it myself as a 'note' for the day we were going so I wouldn't forget.

I made a reservation for my daughter this morning. The 40% discount ends on June 30. From July 1st on it's the 20% discount. The CM told me that you cannot load it into your MyDisneyExperience since it's considered a tour.

Thanks for the info all - snow storm today so I didn't get a chance to call.

I'll call tomorrow to confirm since I can't add to MDE; I'm a worrier.

Me too. Sometimes the worry is justified, sometimes not. I canít always figure out how to tell the difference.
