Our first family trip (when DD was not in utero), was in early/mid Nov 2014 and it was a nice time of year--thanks for the reminder to consider it. The Christmas party is my goal. We did the Halloween party last year and had a great time.

The Christmas Party in early November is a lot of fun and doesn’t usually feel really crowded. We frequently travel in early November.

If you find an owner about a month before the 11 month window opens up, you should be fine to get the reservation you're looking for.

Be very careful about accepting offers from Private Messages you did not initiate. That is one way the scammers get to you, especially if they know when and where you want to go.

I second that . I never respond to names I have never seen on the forums.

The best strategy for knowing dependable owners who rent is the one I follow.

Get active on the forums and start to know the regulars . Pay attention to how many posts they have. Scammers do not bother to post often here .

For early December as some have already said even at the exact 11 month window can be really tough, I know I had trouble at BLT, so it may depend on where you want to stay too.

I was very lucky to get a well known/experienced DVC owner for my first rental experience. I was quite nervous posting my first "Wanted" ad !

Next question, which is kind of related--traditionally when are DVC points released for the next year? I saw an article in Dec 2018 about the release of 2020 points. Will it be Dec 2019 before the release of 2021 points?

Thanks!

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. I believe it depends on your use year. With my February use year, I see next year's points on February 1.

Sorry. I don't think that I worded my question correctly. I think what I am asking about is the 2021 Point Chart.

Ah! Sorry for the misunderstanding. That is information I do not know.
