Default Armed Man arrested after attempt to enter DS NYE

Armed Man arrested after attempting to enter DS Parking garage on NYE. According to recent arrest report., with a 9mm handgun and 2 magazines with 14 rounds of ammo. Apparently Police Security K9 dog sniffed him out deserves an extra biscuit.
Florida Station Spectrum News based on arrest records.

Maybe that explains why all traffic was stopped around midnight on all property and they closed the back corridor exits behind Main Street requiring everybody to exit walking down Main Street. I walked back to BLT as soon as I could after fireworks, All traffic at that crosswalk was halted and backed up . It was a mess.

I have not seen any other reports in news and do not know what Spectrum News Station is so I hope I am not spreading anything false.
I will try to verify now using trusty google

Traffic around Bay Lake was probably backed up because on NYE they were using the perimeter fireworks and they stop traffic when they are in use.

It's not as big of an arrest as one might think. Had the man had a license, he probably would have been just fine since the weapon was concealed. Disney does require you to lock your weapon in your car (glove box?) when on property, though.

I would think that concealed carry in and around DS is quite common.

Why would you want to conceal carry a firearm into the parks?

Isn't all of Disney Springs considered private property? So you can be trespassed for carrying regardless of you concealed carry status?

For a gun owner and carrier? No
For those against guns? Yes

Totally depends on view. 14 rounds is not huge so not concerning really. Likely just a stupid owner who doesn't realize laws or rules for concealed carry.

With no additional information - no, not really. There are tens of thousands of people who conceal carry pretty much everywhere they go, probably twice as many CCer's in a situation they might consider a "soft target". Given what little we actually know, they only thing that stands out is the second magazine. I know people who CC, just don't know any who bring a second magazine.

It depends on FL state laws. In NC, any business can ban weapons on their property, but there have to be clearly posted signs at all entrances in order for it to actually be illegal. I have no idea if this parking garage has clearly posted signs or if FL allows someone to be trespassed in the absence of appropriate signs.

Maybe this guy was up to no good. Maybe he was just concerned that DS on NYE might be a tempting target and wanted to protect himself and his family. Right now, all we know is that he didn't do any research about Disney's firearm policy (not smart).

I'm impressed with DS security though in catching this in the parking garage.

I'm saying in Florida it's not unusual. Florida is a concealed-carry state. There could very easily have been many other guests there doing the same thing.

You'll notice in the news stories no one is saying "attack foiled" or ascribing "intent." Just that a guy was arrested for carrying an unlicensed concealed weapon. The charge was not having a license, not attempted attack.
