Default Shaffer 2017 Disney Dream Cruise (hopefully)

Hello all,

Haven't posted for a while, but wanted to do a TR for our cruise.
I'll start by saying that I booked my Cruise with Robin (TomandRobin).

What a great experience. I booked with only a few weeks out, and utilized my FL residence discount. Robin did all the leg work, and provided onboard credit, which I wouldn't have gotten if I had booked myself. Very smooth transaction, and she made sure Disney had everything they needed including proof of residency.

We leave tomorrow, but our big issue now is hurricane Irma..... Looks like we will be ahead of her, and should be able to return home in time to decide what we are going to do. If we wake up tomorrow, and it looks like something has changed, we have decided to accept our losses, and not go on the cruise. I'd say right now, I'm at 80% for taking the cruise. if we don't, we decided to use our Universal AP discount and stay at a universal resort.

We are not concerned about the cruise so much, are more worried about our house, and our pets. Our neighbors are taking care of our pets for us. Their daughter comes over 4 times a day and even walks them. We are concerned that if the hurricane comes before we get home, we won't be able to prepare our house, and don't want our pets to be impacted....
All models have the hurricane hitting the Bahamas on Friday, which is also the day we return to port Canaveral. That would have the Hurricane arriving on Saturday or Sunday. We already have our Hurricane shutters guy ready.

More to follow

Great to see you posting again.

Really hope Irma heads in a different direction and you're able to completely enjoy!

Thanks for the well wishes, Robin let me know you asked about our adventures.

Disneyland Paris was very nice, layout quite similar to California's Disneyland. Language issues took a bit away for me, but still magical, of course.

Hoping you can make it or get more info to decide and prep early. My concern cutting it so close would be if they decided you couldn't dock and then you couldn't get back to prep your home.

I thought of that too, but based on where the cruise is going, it should always be ahead of the storm. I think time is on my side.

Default We are going!

We talked things over with friends, and we are going.

Doing final preps and should be on the road in an hour.

All models don't have the hurricane hitting us till Saturday at the latest.

We have a reservation in Orlando if it is just going to impact south fl

Really ready to enjoy a much needed vacation.
