I went with friends Friday night.
We went to Smithsonian IMAX theatre and it was awesome!
Disney really developed the story.
I had to come home and watch Civil War on Netflix to catch up!

Saw it Saturday morning. Excellent movie, indeed.

I’d say no, not necessary. Nice to connect some dots on a later viewing, perhaps, but enjoyable on its own.

No, this movie could stand on it's own I believe without having watched any of the others. The only thing I can think of that you may not get is the scene that happens after all the credits end (so no biggie).

I am way behind on my Marvel movies, and I thoroughly enjoyed Black Panther. It easily stands on its own.
But it was so good and the end credits left me wanting to understand the tie in and that was in Civil War-Capt America, so I went back.
Watching Black Panther 1st made Civil War more enjoyable for me.

Many viewers left before the 2 end credit scenes rolled so both are worth sitting for at least once.

I plan to see it again at DS next month when we are there.
