If you buy a permanent trailer site and change your drivers license and file taxes in florida, does that allow you to establish residency in Florida?

Asking for a friend.

In order to get a DL, I had to prove home ownership w deed and utility bills. If you were purchasing an RV site, I bl your RV would need to be tagged in FL to qualify for residency, just like I had to prove via utility bills my home was owner-occupied. Congratulations on your new home. Florida is a fun state to live in, IMO.

I think there are also rules about the amount of time spent there, business conducted there, etc. Owning property does not in and of itself allow for residency, I think you need to occupy it for a certain period throughout the year (I think it's 6 months).

We don't ever plan to move there permanently, so I don't expect we'd ever buy property. We do, however, hope to spend extended periods there in our RV once retirement comes around.

Smile Thanks everyone

Home inspection is Monday. I will say this that buying is very competitive.

We had to go above ask and house was only on market one day, with multiple bids.

Florida real estate is crazy right now.
