Loved your TR!! What a great trip!!

Since you are a zoo/wild animal lover, when you head to Denver be sure to go to The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, CO. They have been rescuing wild animals for over 4 decades and have amazing natural and HUGE habitats for the lions, tigers, bears, wolves, etc. They have an overhead walkway that's more than a mile long from which you can view the animals.

There was a book written about the sanctuary, Forever Wild, Forever Home, by Melanie and Mark Shellenbarger, that tells the history and shares the story of the Sanctuary and many of its incredible animals! The photographs in this book are stunning and will also make you laugh out loud at the antics of the inhabitants! The bears are particularly endearing!

You will be amazed!!!

I finally got back to the rest of your trip report - it was so wonderful. And the photos! Thank you so much Dirk!

So many places within driving distance for us that we need to get back to. Sometimes you just get so busy with everyday life you forget. Thanks for the beautiful reminder! Gonna need to hit DH up for a trip plan for the near future!
