A nice plus, but I’ll always have my wallet regardless, so not a huge benefit to me.

My husband will as well. Still it is nice for the times when I don't want to carry much of anything.

Exactly. I'm not suggest I would be travelling with my friend and allow them to use my discount while I am off doing something else (although, by the rules, that too is not supposed to happen). I'm saying they could add my name to their reservation, take my MB with them, and use my AP discount on their purchases while I sit and watch the Packer game at home in WI. The result is someone getting unmerited access to the discount and Disney not making as much on the sale as they should in that particular exchange.

Again, I'm not sure it would ever become a significant enough issue for them to worry about (in fact, I could see arguments where it might actually boost profits for them), it just strikes me as a pretty wide loophole - at least as the new system is currently being described.

Just my thoughts on this. I'm a noobee who has never had an AP, but I do have an IT background.

This should be ready to detect via analytics, at least for payments inside the parks: "AP was not used to enter the park (requires biometrics) but was used to pay inside the park". If you expand this (easy to do) "AP purchased inside the park with no admission and outside the park during the same reservation", you cover an even higher percentage of total AP sales. "Purchases outside the park but not inside the park during the whole reservation" would be difficult to monitor but I suspect this are a small fraction of the total sales.

How Disney chooses to respond could be anything from denying the discount to cancelling the AP for fraud. I'm sure there are plenty of weasel words in the AP agreement.
