We're in the same boat. June 29 to July 3 at AKL. Here's hoping it slows and everyone recovers soon.

Confirmed cases are no absolute, but confirmed death from coronavirus is absolute.
Correct. Also the numbers of infection are somewhat screwed at the moment as some states are just now getting enough testing kits. Once the results come back, the numbers will dramatically increase, but like you said, we are working backwards and actually getting old results, not necessarily new ones.

I'm officially cancelling our Summer UK trip. I'm at the end of the cancellation window for a refund with my VRBO in London so I went ahead and cancelled. Negotiating with my Edinburgh VRBO as the owner's cancellation does not include a refund of the deposit. Hopefully he has changed his policy during this crisis so I'll find out soon.

British Airways is offering credit for cancellations for travel through July 31 and the credit needs to be used for travel through April 30, 2022. Much more generous than what they were offering last week. However, I'll hold out a bit longer in hopes my flight is cancelled and I can get a full refund.

We were really looking forward to this trip, particularly to see several West End shows but I expect the theaters will remain dark for the rest of the summer. Hopefully we can return next year.

So now Hong Kong and UK trips have been cancelled due to COVID-19. We still have a Maui trip booked for later this summer that we will keep if Hawaii will let us in.

COVID-19 can suck it.

Amen to that! Here's hoping Hawaii goes well for you. I still have my London and Canterbury lodging reserved even though we canceled the cruise and never booked airfare. It's hard to pull that final trigger.

There's a YouTube video on the top 10 countries to visit after lockdown ends and travel resumes. I'll need to check it out. Maybe it's a yurt in the middle of the Gobi desert where nobody had the virus for at least a distance of three-days camel ride.

Sorry about yet another trip. And I totally agree! Hadnít really thought about it, but if the World is a hot mess in November, I might consider Hawaii... likely, though, we will do something close or nothing at all. Try again next year.

Depends on the level of insanity. Not making iron clad plans right now.
