Default Behind the scenes Soarin'

I called today to make reservations for behind the scenes tour of Soarin', but, not only could member services not find it, when I looked at the member benefits link, it is no longer listed.
Has anyone heard, are they discontinuing the behind the scenes of Soarin' tour?

It's still on the DVC website, both for Epcot and California Adventure. I have reservations for the Epcot one in December.

He said it is still scheduled for December, but no dates posted for 2018.
Yeah, thinking I have to call again - maybe got someone on their first day running solo.

I tried to book this for late January and I was told that there was no availability. She said that it only books to around 20 so it fills up fast.

And each member can bring up to 4 guests, so really, only 4 people (if each brings 4 guests) can book for each date they offer this. At best, it would only be 10 people (if each brings only 1 guest).

I was having issues booking the Disneyland version at DCA back in July for our August 2017 trip. After multiple calls to Member Services within the 60 day booking window with the response of "It's not available to book, call back later to see if it shows up" I tried sending a message to the DVC Facebook page. This was the response...

"We have researched this with our IT partners. It appears that the tour has been extended through the end of the year, but for some reason, the availability to book was not placed in our booking system. We have resolved this and you may contact Member Services to check availability for the date you are interested in.

Thank you for your patience and for bringing this to our attention."

We were able to book the tour for the middle of August. When we arrived for the tour, the Tour Guide told us it had been suspended while they "figured some things out" and that we were the first group on the new version. Apparently part of the original tour had you going in the pit in front of the screen and they decided that wasn't the safest thing for guests to do so they had to cut that part of the tour out. It cut the tour time in half.

We got to go behind the building to see the cooling systems for the projectors, he told us about some of the data requirements for the digital projection system, then into a hallway where they bring in VIP guests. There we got to see the original erector set model the Imagineer used to pitch the idea to management and explained how the smells are dispensed. They had samples of all the scents in small metal canisters used in the current show. The most exciting thing for me was getting to hold the last canister of orange scent they had saved from the original attraction. He told us about a number of "Easter eggs" to look for during the show. We were then escorted to the pre-show area and went on the ride as the finale to the tour.

The tour guide made it sound like they were only running the tour through the end of the year and then would make a decision on whether to keep it or not. So, I don't know if bugging member services will get you anywhere but maybe try asking about it via DVC social media channels like Facebook or Twitter would have better results.

This is the description. It will be of interest to some, not to others. YMMV.
