Magic Kingdom after hours. Worth every penny! They started letting people in at 6. Park closed at 10. From 10 to 1 every ride (except 7D) was walk on and you could stay on if you wanted to for most rides. I would absolutely do this again.

I thought by signing up for the dessert party, it would be a great way to enjoy the entire show without being crammed in with thousands of people.
We did the desert party at MK after Happily Ever After started. We had done TOWL for the first time that trip, and it was easy, comfortable and convenient (we were staying at BLT). Regarding the desert party it was really our first time being near the castle, and we did the plaza seating versus the covered area (no rain that night - but we were prepared just in case), and we really enjoyed it. Our DS4 and DS1 loved it....getting out after the end seemed easier. I think we went thru the back of the house area to bypass the main street crowd, so that was great. We talked about potentially doing it another time, but not in a rush to do it again.

The best part was sitting in the front of the boat cuddled up with my youngest son watching what felt like a private Disney World fireworks show just for us. It was one of those moments that while in it you knew you would never forget for the rest of your life. To me it was pure Disney magic.

After the fireworks show the boat took us to watch the electric water show in front of the Grand Floridian, which took me back to my childhood when my father used to take the family to Disney every year.
That sounds wonderful and really worth the expense. Do they always stop for the Water Pageant or did you have an extra nice cast member?

I guess I will mention the old Pirates and Princess Parties they used to have. Disney discontinued them because they weren't very popular... meaning not very crowded!

We did the MK Fireworks Dessert Party (with Plaza viewing) for the pre-NYE late fireworks on 12/30. The food was OK, but not great. I did it so I could have some room to watch the fireworks. It worked like a charm! I booked it again for this 12/30 but I don't think I would do it unless I expected the MK to be packed.

For me it was definitely the Wanyama Safari at AKL. For a lot less money, I enjoyed lunch with an Animal Keeper at Sanaa.

I can understand for the occasional visitor that this would be great. But to me this would not be worth it. I have been on every ride so many times it's not even a draw to me. And I've been in the park for evening EMH when it was walk-on empty so no big deal. There has to be something special; fireworks, a parade, characters, a special experience, etc.

I saw you were considering the Star Wars Galactic Dessert Party and thought you’d like a peek at my TR with some pics of it.... http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/sh...=126244&page=2

DH and I did the party earlier this year in January. While we enjoyed it, it’s not something we would do every trip. The food was abundant and good, drinks were flowing (open bar), trooper appearances and fireworks show. The only thing we didn’t get was fireworks viewing....the show itself was fantastic, but after the party you are escorted to the special viewing area (the cement staging area behind all of the Star Wars shows throughout the day). Great area, but no seating. You just basically stand or sit on the cement. A chair would have been nice.....

We will likely take the kids to it on a future trip since I have a household of Star Wars fans, but won’t make dessert parties a regular thing.....and I will bring a blanket.

The MNSSHP is my favorite.

This year I am going to the Disney After Hours.
