If they said they "emailed Disney," then that is a HUGE red flag. You don't email Disney to make changes to a reservation. You either do it online or call member services. Both ways you can receive the confirmation number instantly. I would ask to speak with the person you are renting from on the phone.

You can email Member Services thru the contact us function on the membersí website. Iíve used it to change names on a reservation as recently as July of this year. It took a couple of days for them to get back to me but I wasnít in a hurry.

Another check worth considering for all new renters, check out the number of Rental Ads by Member for years 2014 through to 2019.

It's an additional check so to see if a member has previously placed adverts to rent points.

Check out http://www.mouseowners.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=65 and click back each year to see if and how many adverts a member has placed each year.

Check when they joined MouseOwners and also it they've responded to or started a new post. If none then worth looking a little deeper before parting with any money.

Hopefully it's just a little early and you'll receive the reservation number soon.

As a person who does rent my points I can confirm what others have stated here, the confirmation email can be delayed. I even had a situation where the email was delayed to the point that it took a couple of days (but, that is rare).

Every owner is different, but I don't take a person's money until I'm able to switch the reservation into the person's name. AND sometimes if the phone waits are long at DVC MS I DO email and request the change. If the original reservation is in a different name, using the online modification, the owner can only change additional guests on the reservation -- not the lead guest. Only DVC MS can change the lead guest. The chat feature can change some names, but again, not the lead guest. Only a DVC CM can do make that change.

So... for me personally, there are some red flags here, but that doesn't mean the person you rented from isn't a ligit owner -- they my be just inexperienced. I don't like to jump to conclusions when I don't have a ton of information and I wasn't involved in the transaction from the beginning.

In general I do not advertise here and select my renters thru the want ad. Too many tire kickers will contact you for a night or two. Not worth my time.

OP, if owner has made a reservation in your name they can give you reservation number from their online account and you can link that to your MDE account. It is instantaneous to get the reservation number if someone has made a reservation.

I do not rent my points, but I can say it has taken disney sometimes 24 to 48 hours to send my a confirmation email when I have made changes over the phone. Once in a blue moon email was never sent and I had to log into my account to make sure my reservation was there. Most times the email comes fairly quickly within a day but sometimes...

But seems red flag here why renter can not get reservation number so far.

That's what stands out to me. The email delay in the name change is one thing - the lack of a reservation number on a supposed confirmed reservation 'with screen-shot' is another.
