Default Star wars Celebration 2019

Next US Star Wars convention will be Chicago! I'm so excited it'll be closer. I'm hoping we can make it. I did one in Orlando and one in Anaheim. Missed the last one, and I'm just so glad this one, we could possibly drive to or take a quick flight.
The SW conventions are SO fun, even if you are not into geeking out at the panels and such. The costumes you'll see are amazing. Just about any SW character will be represented. Worth a trip out just for that!
I'll still remember the Carrie Fisher panel I was able to get into (without camping out for hours or the night before.) She was so funny!

Sounds fun. I just clicked on this cause I thought it was something new for NYE celebration ...since there are like 4 posts going currently for NYE planning.
So what are your NYE plans ... kidding. Hope you get to the event in Chicago for 2019. I will be watching for updates with trip report and pics cause it sounds like fun with less crowds but possibly more crazy fun people.
Do you have to plan a costume or just people watch?

Thanks!!
Update to my plans are that the 5 day tickets for the event, AND the Saturday passes are ALL sold out! I've never seen anything like this before. Last 2 I went to, I was able to buy tickets a week or two before....This is totally insane. I am guessing since it's the first non-coastal convention in years, this is drawing a lot of folks who live in the Central US, plus so much in SW fandom going on right now....

So...I'm still debating at least getting Friday and Sunday tickets (maybe 1 other day) and possibly just sight seeing Sat....but we'll see. DH is still unsure if he wants to go, so if I do, might be solo

I have a Jedi Knight costume/robes, and I've worn those before. Have always wanted Leia costumes from ESB or ROTJ, but we'll see.....Seeing all the costumes is always such great fun!
